Mr. Calvert is a civil trial lawyer whose practice focuses primarily on personal injury in motor vehicle accident,  premises liability and dog bite injuries.     Mr. Calvert has experience litigating in federal and state courts in both Kentucky and Tennessee.

Matt grew up Bowling Green, Kentucky. He attended college at Miami University on a partial athletic scholarship. During his Junior year at Miami, Matt took a Business Law course that was taught by a local attorney. It was by far the most interesting course that Matt took in college and laid the foundation for his eventual career in the law. After graduating from Miami with a degree in Accounting and a minor in Political Science, Matt attended the University of Kentucky College of Law. During his third year of law school, Matt worked in the College of Law Legal Clinic, where he handled a number of pro bono cases for clients that couldn’t afford to pay a lawyer. Much of the work involved litigation of civil disputes and piqued his interest in civil litigation and trial work.. Matt obtained his law degree in 2005 and returned to Bowling Green to begin practicing law at a well-respected local firm. During his eight years at that firm, Matt handled a wide variety of cases, ranging from commercial litigation to insurance defense to representing plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death claims. Matt gravitated toward representing individuals that were harmed or killed through no fault of their own. He loved helping those clients and found it much more rewarding than the other work he had done.. In 2013, Matt joined his friend and law partner Brian Lowder to found Lowder & McGill, PLLC. Their firm was founded on the principle of zealous and aggressive representation of their client’s interest, whether it be a small business owner involved in a commercial dispute, an individual that has been seriously injured in a crash or a family that has lost a loved one due to someone’s negligence. Matt enjoys the challenge of obtaining justice for these clients, whether it be in reaching a fair settlement or taking his client’s case to trial.. Matt feels that it is his responsibility to give back to the community whenever possible. He is a former member of several civic organizations, has served as a board member for several charitable organizations and has contributed to and helped organize many fundraisers for these organizations. Matt currently serves as a board member and past President for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Central KY, an advocacy group that seeks to protect abused and neglected children.. Matt and his wife Amy have two beautiful daughters, Vivienne and Susanna.

Jonaka White Hall focuses her practice on wills, probate, and litigation services. Originally from Cromwell, Kentucky, Jonaka earned her bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Western Kentucky University and earned her Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase College of Law.. J.A. Sowell joined ELPO as an associate attorney in August 2017. A lifelong native of Bowling Green, J.A. is a graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and Western Kentucky University.. Becoming an attorney was never on J.A.’s radar and only became his focus about halfway through earning his bachelor’s degree at WKU, Sowell says. “Since I was a child, I had always thought I would become a physician,” Sowell says. “However, this changed when my undergraduate history professor encouraged me to consider the legal field. I took a job working for a local law firm and immediately fell in love the profession, experiencing firsthand the demands and rewards of being a lawyer.”. He then fully shifted the focus of his studies at WKU, and decided to pursue a career in law. While in law school, he worked as a clerk at ELPO for two summers, which helped confirm his interest in the field and in the wide array of practice areas offered by ELPO.. “For me, the best part of working for ELPO is serving the people of Bowling Green and Southcentral Kentucky,” Sowell says.
