Steven S. Bloom, Esq. has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1985 and was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for  the District of Massachusetts in 1986.  He has been licensed to practice in the State of Rhode Island since 1988.  Mr. Bloom  practices in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury law, contract law, discrimination law, business and corporate law, employment discrimination law, restaurant acquisitions, worker's compensation and the trial of civil  cases.  Attorney Bloom also practices real estate law, which comprises a significant portion of his practice.  He has represented numerous banks, lending institutions, buyers and sellers  in both residential and commercial real estate transactions. Practicing estate planning and probate really suits my personality style - I love to help people "figure things out" and balance the pros and cons of a particular situation to make the best decision possible.. I also strive to be a source of comfort to friends and family, and am greatly satisfied to be able to do that in my professional life as well, helping people get estate planning off their "mental list" and giving them the peace of mind that comes from having the proper estate planning documents in place; and helping families deal with the loss of a loved one by assisting them in navigating the technical and legal details that come up at that time.. When I'm not working, I enjoy music - listening, playing and writing. I am a singer/songwriter/pianist and love sharing songs with friends and family.. I live in Brookline and love the Boston area.

My practice includes a number of interrelated areas.  My real estate, probate, estate planning and tax experience and expertise assist me in my work with divorcing clients.  I have developed an area of mediation in my practice ("mediation to stay married" or "marital mediation" that uses mediation skills to assist couples who are experiencing difficulty in their marriage.  Most of my work is non-court related, including negotiated divorces, collaborative divorces and mediations.  I work with a great team of people in my firm -- 3 other lawyers and a paralegal.  In the past few years I have started writing articles -- on marriage, divorce, mediation, and other topics.
