My practice includes a mixture of family law and civil litigation cases.  In the family law arena, I have experience with divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, paternity and relinquishment and adoption issues.  In the civil litigation arena, I focus primarily on contract disputes, including the protection of contract rights of creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.  I have experience in probate and in estate planning for small estates which do not require federal tax planning.. Outside of the office, I enjoy hiking, snowshoeing and traveling.  These adventures have taken me to Vietnam and Cambodia and to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.  I have also been to all 50 of the United States.

Ms. Hoffman has a Masters in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and represents individual and organizational clients in all aspects of tax planning and controversy resolution. From 1982 – 1990, he had a solo practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and moved back to the Denver area as a partner in Cross & Schlie, P.C. with the Honorable Christopher C. Cross. Since 1994, Mr. Schlie maintained a solo practice in Denver and Arapahoe Counties. I was born and raised in a small town just south of Kansas City, Missouri. I am the youngest of three children, and come from a family of public educators. After high school I attended the University of Central Missouri where I was the captain of the wrestling team. I earned my law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. While in school I clerked for the Honorable Judge George W. Draper III at the Missouri Supreme Court, then worked at the Missouri State Public Defender office in Fulton, Missouri. I moved to Denver in 2014 and have been representing those injured at work and through the negligence of others since.

In practice since 1988, I have defended the rights of clients throughout Colorado and Wyoming. I handle cases in the counties of Denver, Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, Jefferson, Boulder and many other Colorado Counties. In Wyoming, I represent clients in Laramie County and the surrounding area.
