Firm: Benoit Law Firm, PLLC

In 2004, Attorney Dexter Benoit started his legal career in Chicago after graduating from the University of Illinois College of Law. He focused on personal injury from the get-go, but at the time he primarily defended large medical institutions and insurance companies convicted of wrongdoing. He quickly realized his true passion was helping the people who had been injured, not the institutions responsible for accidents. He relocated to Charlotte and opened Benoit Law Firm, PLLC in 2011. Since then he has won large settlements, including those that brought in over a million dollars, for clients in North Carolina. When he is not in his office or the courtroom, Dexter is actively involved in several local organizations committed to assisting those victimized by other’s negligence.

In 1995, I began limiting my law practice to solely appellate work. I have since handled hundreds of appeals in the North Carolina Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am admitted to the United States Supreme Court, but it hears a very few cases and has yet to agree to grant any of the petitions that I have filed.. When the North Carolina State Bar created the Appellate Law specilization in 2011, I qualified and sat for the examination. As a result of passing that test and the other qualification requirements, I am a certified appellate specialist.. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law in 1983, I married criminal defense attorney Eben Rawls and moved to Charlotte. I started my law practice by doing research and writing for other lawyers on a contract basis. After a few months, I went into partnership with another lawyer. I was primarily responsible for the writing projects in our office, such as drafting motions and briefs, whether the underlying case was mine or my partner's. My law practice was general trial work in the federal and state courts, handling civil and criminal trials, as well as representing parents and juveniles in the juvenile court system.

If you are reading this, there is a chance your family is hurting. You may even feel lost and unsure. Perhaps you know exactly what you want or need but are not sure how to move forward to achieve that result. I want you to know that you don’t have to walk this path alone. This is just one chapter of your story that will later become a prelude to the new beginning you are creating for both your life and your family. I am here to provide you with the legal options and support necessary to put you in control of your situation and to write your story however you see fit.. I’ve always been one of those people who believes that things just have a way of working themselves out. Some of my colleagues call it delusional, but I like to call it faith! But, I know this faith won’t always come easily, particularly given the transitions that necessarily comes with separation. I recognize that you must have the right information and the right strategy to create the best opportunity.. After graduating from law school at Mississippi College, it was my desire to be in the courtroom and my passion for helping people that led me to become a state prosecutor. As an assistant district attorney in Mecklenburg County, I represented victims of domestic violence for years – prosecuting crimes ranging from the violation of a protective order to attempted murder. This experience allowed me to work with families while providing me with an intimate knowledge of the courtroom. Recognizing the impact I was able to have in my practice, I began working with juvenile offenders. In addition to litigation, I was able to work with multiple agencies and attorneys to facilitate a positive outcome for everyone involved.. After moving from the domestic violence and juvenile prosecution teams, I knew that a career in family law was my true calling. Having helped hundreds of unique survivors, engaging each with empathy, strength and knowledge; and after experiencing the successful practice of collaborative law in the juvenile setting, I knew I was ready to help families navigate complex legal issues and walk beside them along the way.. In the end, this story is yours to write. My extensive trial experience allows me to negotiate from a position of strength, knowing that I am well-equipped and prepared to fight for you in the courtroom if an amicable resolution cannot be reached. I’ll make it my goal to educate you on all the possible legal outcomes, work hard to reach a suitable agreement if possible, and advocate for you every step of the way. I can’t promise what the next chapter of your life will hold, but I can promise to support you as we write it.

I'm pretty much a nerd at heart. I love finding ways to use new technology - sometimes to improve efficiency at work, sometimes to make things easier in life, and sometimes just for fun. When I'm not practicing law, I enjoy writing about technology, building things from scratch, and cooking. I'm a huge Tar Heel fan, and I eagerly await the day when Charlotte gets an MLS franchise.

Firm: Auger & Auger Accident and Injury Lawyers

I was injured in a car accident while a law student and learned the hard way how the insurance companies treat the victims who need their help the most. From that point on I put the practice of tax law behind me and decided to exclusively handle cases involving personal injury. I saw firsthand how the insurance companies treated people and knew that I could have a major impact on the lives of my clients.. I have been practicing injury law in North Carolina for over 20 years. I am married and have two sons (and three dogs). My law practice is a major part of my life where I work with some exceptional people including my wife who is also a personal injury attorney. She worked with the insurance carriers early on in her career and brought an invaluable insight into their inner workings to our practice.. I am an avid skier, biker and hockey player. I work out regularly at a local Crossfit and am active in my Church and my sons' Boy Scout troop. I have also been active in the community with coaching of a local middle school football team and helping with one of our local high school Rugby programs.. If you are looking for an attorney to help you, or if you simply have a question, please give me a call. We can help. The call as well as the consultation is free!. Yours Truly,. Herb Auger

I was born in South Port, NC. As a matter of fact, most of my family still lives in the New Hanover/Brunswick County area. However, I spent most of my school-age years in Ohio, where I also pursued my degrees.. My undergraduate degree is in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. While studying MIS, I learned about cool developing areas of law. No, I didn't decide to go to law school for any altruistic reason, I went because the legal subjects I learned in class seemed exciting.. I studied the law at Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. I am ambitious, so I decided to get my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) while in law school. The dual JD/MBA degrees have been a great asset to my clients and running a law firm like a small business.. The most amazing thing happened while I was in law school - I fell in love with the law. Constitutional Law tells an incredible FACTUAL story of the United States, Civil Procedure outlines more about the legal system than I ever imagined and Property was the most exciting, yet boring, subject illustrating the illogical legal system that has far more to offer than one realizes. These classes, along with several others, changed my perspective about my purpose to practice law. By the end of law school, I wanted to help as many people as possible with my newly acquired legal knowledge.. I started the Brewington Law Firm, PLLC in 2009 because I wanted to take ownership of my work and my future. The firm exists to give clients options - about the use of technology, fee agreements, practice areas and unbundled services - while disrupting the traditional law firm model. Let's talk about how we can help you and your interests. You can read more about me on Social Media using the links below. I look forward to hearing from you.

I understand that a person accused of a crime is more than just a name and a criminal charge.  A person accused of a crime has a family, a history, and a story that needs to be understood.  That person deserves respect and zealous advocacy, regardless of their charges. I am honored to represent each and every client that wants me to fight on their behalf.

I started my law firm to put my prior experience to work for individuals, as well as small to mid-sized companies in the Charlotte and Cabarrus County area. I knew that my clients would benefit from a more flexible and personal style of legal representation, as well as the option for flat fee legal services rather than always having to pay by the hour.. Before founding The Canipe Law Firm, PLLC, I was a partner at a large multi-state law firm where I helped lead their Business & Contract Law team.  I also handled cases in NC and SC and provided estate planning services.  I had also worked for a the legal department of a large bank and for a large business litigation law firm.. I wanted a different kind of firm with a relationship where my clients and I could know each other better and I could offer them legal advice more customized to their situations.  I wanted my law practice to be drive by the needs of my clients and how I can help them.. I grew up in Catawba County, North Carolina and live in Charlotte with my wife and their two children.  Outside of work, I focus on his family and is an active member at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.  For several years, I worked with my wife teaching children’s Sunday School and the church’s annual Vacation Bible School. I also help  teach our adult Sunday School class and serve the members of the church as a deacon. I enjoy studying the Bible and discussing how to apply the Bible to everyday life, as I try to live out my faith.. I retain an avid interest in American history from my college days.  You can usually be sure that I am reading a few history books and working on a history research project.  I also greatly enjoy running, participating in local mud runs and playing pickup basketball with friends as part of my regular fitness routine.

I represent clients in the states of Florida and North Carolina in various types of legal matters, including but not limited to business law and real estate law. My career has followed a dual trajectory in litigation and corporate practice. I’ve acted as general counsel to several small businesses with regard to business development and contract work while also representing individuals and entities in complex business litigation matters relating to contract disputes, lender and financial liability matters, and real estate transactions. at both the state and federal level. My previous experience as a judicial clerk gave me insight into various litigation strategies and tactics viewed favorably by a judge.. I enjoy assisting individuals and their businesses navigate through legal issues that can, at times, be complex and confusing.. One of my proudest career moments that made a deep impact on me as an attorney was clerking for a circuit court judge in which I assisted the judge in the re-sentencing of a juvenile defendant based upon an error in his original sentence. Ultimately, the re-sentencing resulted in the defendant being released from prison in time to spend the Christmas holiday with his family.. My goal is to provide effective legal communication and solutions to my clients.

I love competition and thrive on being a trial lawyer.  I'm known as the 'DWI Guy' and 100% own it.  It's what I do.  I'm in the Legal Elite Hall of Fame as my colleagues voted me as North Carolina's Top Criminal Law Attorney in 2016.  I appreciate all the awards and recognition, from serving on Law Review to Business NC's Top 30 Under 30, to Super Lawyers, to the National Trial Lawyer's Top 40 Under 40, but it's helping people that makes me truly happy.. What will become clear after speaking with me?. [1] I'm direct and strategically-aggressive.. [2] My niche is getting people (Judges, Lawyers, DA's Office, etc.) to say "Yes" when they don't want to.. [3] Our custom internal-process and checks & balance systems will be relieving.. Being a certified NBA Player Agent (NBPA), the time I don’t spend battling it out in court, I spend either recruiting NBA prospects or reliving my glory days on the basketball court.  I’ve been the Commissioner of the Mecklenburg County Lawyer Basketball League for years.  Check out the photo-section for our recent Championship portrait.  You’ll have the opportunity to hold our 50lb. gavel as it’s proudly displayed as soon as you walk in our building.. I’m a West Virginia native who fights to the end.  I started my professional career in the Corporate & Investment Banking world.  Although very interesting, I didn’t know my personal end-game until I formed RTS Law Group.  Our employees are sharp, passionate, and feel like they are members of my family (some actually are).  This has all been a dream-come-true.  I’m looking forward to fighting on your behalf.

I have dedicated my entire legal career to criminal defense, through direct representation as well as policy work. In 2023, I returned to North Carolina to continue my career as a criminal defense attorney with The Olsinski Law Firm.. I represent adults charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses in District and Superior Court primarily in Mecklenburg County. I occasionally take cases in surrounding counties, such as Cabarrus and Union, and I am admitted to practice in the federal court of the Western District of North Carolina. Although I represent people charged with a variety of crimes, I have a particular interest in domestic violence defense and cases with Fourth Amendment issues - seeking to keep out evidence that the government obtained in violation of the Constitution. I have been practicing federal and state criminal defense in Charlotte for over 20 years. Since 2010, I have been a State Bar Board Certified Specialist in State and Federal Criminal Law. Since 2012, I have been selected each year as a North Carolina Super Lawyer and have received the highest peer rating (AV preeminent) from Martindale-Hubbell. I have handled every type of criminal case and have always striven to obtain the best possible results for my clients. Unlike many criminal defense lawyers, I do not run a high volume practice where the client is expected to quickly plead guilty and move on. Instead, I studiously look for weaknesses in the prosecution's case with an eye towards winning the case in front of a jury. I am not afraid to try a case, having tried over 130 jury trials during my legal career. On the other hand, if the case appears to be one which will likely result in a guilty verdict, I use the weaknesses in the prosecution's case and the positive aspects of my client's background to try to negotiate a better plea bargain than would otherwise be offered.
