I was born in South Port, NC. As a matter of fact, most of my family still lives in the New Hanover/Brunswick County area. However, I spent most of my school-age years in Ohio, where I also pursued my degrees.. My undergraduate degree is in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. While studying MIS, I learned about cool developing areas of law. No, I didn't decide to go to law school for any altruistic reason, I went because the legal subjects I learned in class seemed exciting.. I studied the law at Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. I am ambitious, so I decided to get my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) while in law school. The dual JD/MBA degrees have been a great asset to my clients and running a law firm like a small business.. The most amazing thing happened while I was in law school - I fell in love with the law. Constitutional Law tells an incredible FACTUAL story of the United States, Civil Procedure outlines more about the legal system than I ever imagined and Property was the most exciting, yet boring, subject illustrating the illogical legal system that has far more to offer than one realizes. These classes, along with several others, changed my perspective about my purpose to practice law. By the end of law school, I wanted to help as many people as possible with my newly acquired legal knowledge.. I started the Brewington Law Firm, PLLC in 2009 because I wanted to take ownership of my work and my future. The firm exists to give clients options - about the use of technology, fee agreements, practice areas and unbundled services - while disrupting the traditional law firm model.
