I was born in Chicago Illinois, and had a great childhood in Chicago in a large family. When I graduated high school I worked three years in a steel mill while attending college part-time. I eventually joined the military to finish my schooling on the GI bill. In the Army, I worked as an operating room technician (handing the surgical instruments to the surgeon) for 3 and 1/2 years in a military hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii (a wonderful assignment as you might expect). As planned, I finished schooling after I left the military, and the GI bill funded my tuition all the way through law school at Southern Illinois University. I am forever grateful that I was afforded that luxury that so many others are not. Upon my graduation from law school in 1986, I returned to the U.S. Army as a JAGC attorney, where I practiced as a criminal defense attorney at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky for three years. Upon my discharge in 1990, I entered private practice first in Nashville, Tennesseee for three years, then in Chattanooga, where I have remained for the past 20 years. I love Chattanooga, and I am very impressed with the legal history and traditions of our town, and the first rate judiciary our town seems to consistently produce. Having worked in so many other jurisdictions, I am keenly aware how lucky Chattanooga is to have such a friendly, competent bar, and fair, concerned judges. My staff and I try our best to honor and uphold the high standards of the Hamilton County courts, and we will do our best to help every client that puts their faith in us.
