I was born in Chicago Illinois, and had a great childhood in Chicago in a large family.  When I graduated high school I worked three years in a steel mill while attending college part-time.  I eventually joined the military to finish my schooling on the GI bill.  In the Army, I worked as an operating room technician (handing the surgical instruments to the surgeon) for 3 and 1/2 years in a military hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii (a wonderful assignment as you might expect).  As planned, I finished schooling after I left the military, and the GI bill funded my tuition all the way through law school at Southern Illinois University.  I am forever grateful that I was afforded that luxury that so many others are not.  Upon my graduation from law school in 1986, I returned to the U.S. Army as a JAGC attorney, where I practiced as a criminal defense attorney at Ft. I was born and raised in Chattanooga and went to Baylor for high school. I went on to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where I received an undergraduate degree in Business Management with a major in Finance. Straight out of undergrad, I went across the street to the University of Tennessee School of Law. I graduated with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (a fancy name for “law degree”) in 2004. I moved right back to Chattanooga and have been practicing law here for the past 16 years.
