Layne Gillespie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2002 and a Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law in 2007.  While in law school, Layne served as the Vice-Chair of the Moot Court Board and received the Book Award for Pre-trial Civil Practice..
