Todd graduated from the Nashville School of Law in 2010. He became an Assistant District Attorney in 2011. Prior to being an ADA, he worked as an investigator for the District Attorney's Office. Besides his Doctorate of Jurisprudence, Todd holds an Associate's of Applied Sciences from Walter's State, a Bachelor's of Applied Science from ETSU, and a Master's of Science from Middle Tennessee State University.

Thomas J. I received my law degree at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2017. While in my third year of law school, I accepted a position with the Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office in Birmingham, Alabama, where I handled a full case load all while balancing life as a full-time law student. I continued my employment with the Public Defender’s Office as a trial attorney after graduation and gained invaluable experience handling hundreds of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to Class A felonies. Since moving back to East Tennessee, I have continued to practice criminal defense but have expanded my practice areas to also include juvenile matters, civil matters such as custody and divorce, as well as personal injury cases.. I have a strong passion for helping others and always approaches each case with great empathy and compassion all while standing strong and fighting for the best outcome.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University, he graduated with honors from Appalachian School of Law.. His legal career started in general practice working with the now Chancellor Douglas Jenkins in 2013. He then accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney for the Third Judicial District, where he worked for seven years. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Akiah was promoted to Lead Assistant for the Hawkins and Hancock County offices and handled a diverse caseload ranging from First Degree Murder and other serious felonies to misdemeanor assaults and DUIs. He has handled thousands of cases and has extensive experience in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. He has also served as a Board member for Hawkins County Recovery Court and Chaired the Elder Abuse Task Force for the Third Judicial District.
