Since 2004 I have been privileged to participate in Medical Mission work taking place in Asia, attending almost yearly. These humanitarian opportunities have taken me to the Philippines,( Manila, Cebu City, Tacloban and Davao City and from Davao all over the island of Mindanao, also I have been able to visit Malasia ( Kuala Lumpor), Indonesia (Medan) and Vietnam both Saigon and Hanoi.. Detroit, is host to the headquarters of World Medical Relief and Kiwanis #1. That means I have plenty of opportunity with a ringside seat, to observe the evolving globalization of the economy and growing influence the internet is playing. Needs are being met that only a few years ago were simply thought unachievavble! I will write more later.. Ann Arbor is the home of the University of Michigan Hospital and leading cardioligists there are working to recycle pace makers for use in poorer areas of the world. Partnering with World Medical Relief free reconditioned pace makers are offered others - a small dent is being made in the enormous demand for pace makers the world over - yearly shortfall is three (3) million from figures provided me in informal discussions with World Medical Relief workers. Lives are saved and prolonged.. Kiwanis, legal collegues and clients have all played an enormous part in providng the opportunity, inspiration and guidance to do this sort of volunteerism.. International trafficking of the Elderly is becoming a bigger issue. People will grab you for your pension and social security and hold you in your own home. This fact has been made more relvant as I participate in ongoing educational classes at Florida's Stetson university School of Law in their Elder Law LLM Online Program. I have just finished a class in Aging and the Law and will soon begin a class in Guardianship. As time permits I will attempt to share in this forum, concepts that will help us all age and age well with a caring circle of support.. I will try to supplement personal events, since this seems to be what others want to know, in terms of writing about what is going on in the world of Aging and Asia. More later on Dr. S.E. a mennonite Peace Maker (mediator) and physcician (double board certified) and his wife a social worker providing care in some rough areas of the world there in Asia. If i can learn how to upload more than one photo at a time I will provide photos of srgery being perfomred by Dr S.E. - no blood products available in the jungle so he uses tweezers called HemoStats to prevent bleeding.. I will also share more in the writing here about ways and means to prevent abuse of the elderly and disabled financial and physical. I have to do this by bits and pieces since I have little time when a crisis rears up in the life of clients or their families.. If comments or messages are allowed please feel free to correct grammar and spelling since often I am on little or no sleep when I write and do offer me suggestions since I learn from my clients the most on terms of providing services you may need. I am still a project under construction after 25 years of practice. I learn daily new concepts! :). I love being a solution for people who really need my help.
I have been practicing law for almost 25 years, and mostly at the highest levels. As a trial attorney who has tried dozens of capital and severe offenses before juries, I have found that it is the JURY TRIAL experience which is necessary for an attorney to be skilled, prepared and successful. Any attorney can fix a traffic ticket, but when necessary, a client needs to have an attorney who will battle and win, who has been there before and provide the client with alternatives. In the past three years alone, I have been successful is having multiple capital offense crimes (murder, assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, carjacking, etc.) dismissed after taking over the defense or the client was found not guilty. I have tried divorce, custody and support cases my entire career, and have often said that there is no more important cases on our dockets that those dealing with the custody and welfare of our children. Recent case law makes it imperitive that the client understands that custodial orders will not be changed without substancial and compelling reasons, so you need to get it right the first time. Further, I have recovered over a million dollars in my career in personal injury cases for my clients. You need the confidence in knowing that your attorney has been there before, because these are real courtrooms, real juries and real outcomes that can effect your entire life. Hello! My name is Tara R. Parker. I entered the legal profession because I wanted to be in a position where my job would allow me to help people. And, what better place to help people than in the legal arena? A courtroom can be a particularly intimidating setting for the average citizen and, further, the occasion a person has to stand before a judge often is the result of a highly stressful event such as a divorce, criminal charge, breach of contract, etc. On top of that, the outcome of a person’s interaction with the court system can have a substantial impact on the future of that individual as well as those close to him or her. Legal representation can play a significant role in reducing stress, ensuring that proper procedures are followed, and allowing a client’s voice to be heard and his or her rights zealously fought for!
Having been a teacher for 12 years prior to becoming a defense attorney, I know the value of education and learning from your experiences, good or bad. With each case I take I continue to learn new things and sharpen my skills as a lawyer. My reputation is important to me, which keeps me passionate about defending individuals charged with a crime. I want to help them protect their name, their reputation, and their honor.. Having a thorough understanding of all the facts of my client’s case is the foundation on which I build their defense. Because of this, I am better prepared to protect and defend my client’s interests.
