He earned his J.D. degree (summa curn laude) from Cumberland School of Law in 1971, where he was Law Review associate editor. He served as Special Assistant United States Attorney in the District of South Dakota (1974) and served as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Alabama (1971-76) and was a member of the U.S. Attorney General’s Atlanta “Satellite Office” of the Miami Strike Force (1976-77). Mr. Salter has lectured for the Attorney General Trial Advocacy Institute in Washington D.C. He received the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory’s highest accolade; an AV rating in 1996.
