I have served as a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee since 1982.  I have actively represented debtors from the Northeast Tennessee region in all chapters of bankruptcy since 1980.  My practice has been devoted solely to bankruptcy and financial workouts since 2000.  I am active in bankruptcy related professional organizations and a frequent speaker on bankruptcy related topics. I am not certified as a bankruptcy specialist as I have never chosen to pursue such a certification.

I view my role as listener, advisor, and counselor. I am an attorney practicing in the heart of downtown Johnson City, Tennessee.  After attending Appalachian State University, I taught high school for 2 years before attending law school at the University of Louisville Law School.  After graduation, I moved to Johnson City, Tennessee and have been practicing law downtown ever since..
