I am the founder of South King County's largest law firm, and have served as a Managing Partner for all of its existence.  I conceived the firm as having Seattle/Bellevue law firm image and quality, but with the convenience and reasonable fees permitted by a Kent location.  The firm is now approaching its tenth anniversary; with eighteen lawyers - the experiment was a success!  I believe the lawyers in this firm are among the finest there are in the State.. I have over 36 years of legal experience, nearly all of it in a Partner/Leader capacity.  My own practice emphasizes the representation of municipalities, builders, developers and businesses in land use, commercial, construction, governmental and litigation matters.. Erik enjoys a broad range of practice areas includingcriminal defense (misdemeanors), personal injury cases (motor vehicle), and representing Homeowners’ Associations. Additionally, Erik works all traffic infraction cases for the firm and has been very successful in his handling of over 1,000 traffic hearings. Erik also occasionally works as a Judge Pro Tem and previously served as Commissioner for the Kent Municipal Court.. Erik graduated with honors from the University of Washington in 2007 with a BA in philosophy, and received his JD from Gonzaga University School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During his time at Gonzaga Law, Erik served as the Developmental Committee Chair and an Associate Editor for Gonzaga’s Law Review and was awarded 3L Associate Editor of the year. Erik was also an associate editor for Gonzaga’s Journal of International Law. During his 3L year, Erik worked in Gonzaga’s University Legal Assistance, a non-profit clinical law program providing pro bono services to the local community.. Erik serves on the Board of the Rotary Club of Kent (president 2019-20), and was formerly on the Board of the South King County Bar Association (president 2013-14, 21-23), Board of Governors for the Washington Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (2015-17) and former mentor in in Communities in School Kent Program.
