Jessica Shofler was raised in Toluca Lake, California, where she learned the importance of community service. As a student at The Buckley School, she dedicated her spare time to working with local non-profit organizations. That early experience informs the work she does today.. Jessica attended Vassar College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History while actively pursuing science, arts, music, athletics and law. Along with singing in an all-female a cappella group, serving as captain of the varsity tennis team, and interning with the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office, Jessica still found time to serve the community by assisting with local tutoring programs.. After graduation, Jessica confirmed her passion for law while working in Manhattan as a legal assistant at the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLP. She then enrolled in law school at UC Davis, where she served as Staff Editor for the Business Law Journal and Staff Member of the Journal of Juvenile Law & Policy. She also participated extensively in public service, earning her the title of Public Interest Scholar. Further, Jessica participated in a variety of local externships, including clerking at the Superior Court of Yolo County and serving as Legal Intern at the California Attorney General’s Office and the California Chamber of Commerce. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2009.. With her law degree in hand, Jessica returned to Los Angeles to pursue her legal career.
