I was born in Dallas and raised in Arlington.  I graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Psychology and went straight into law school at Texas Tech.  I went to law school knowing that I wanted to be a family law attorney because I enjoy working with, and helping, people.. I received my law degree, passed the bar, and began my legal career in Fort Worth.  I started my practice with foster parent adoptions.  I soon went to work for the Attorney General of Texas, where I worked for three years.  Then I went back out on my own and reopened my family law practice in Fort Worth, Texas.. I have 4 boys who range in age from 29-9.  Having experienced my own divorce a few years ago, I now have a new perspective.   Having personally made it through the ordeal, and a subsequent modification, I now understand first hand the emotional turmoil that my clients go through.  I believe these experiences help me relate to my clients and encourage me to be creative in my suggestions for settlement.

I have been practicing law for almost 26 years, engaging in the general practice of law with an emphasis on criminal defense, personal injury and civil litigation.  I have successfully litigated or settled numerous cases for his clients, including personal injury cases such as automobile accidents, premises liability  malpractice cases, and dog bite cases, as well as workers compensation cases, social security disability claims, contract disputes, employer-employee disputes, and business disputes.  I have also handled numerous criminal defense matters over the years, ranging from crimes of violence, motor vehicle offenses including operating under the influence of liquor or drugs, to crimes against property, and drug offenses.  I have also handled numerous appeals before the Registry of Motor Vehicles.. My litigation experience throughout the courts in Eastern Massachusetts as well as Connecticut have gained me the experience necessary to achieve the most favorable decisions for my clients.  I am dedicated to provide personal attention to each client with a personalized approach for each case. I always take the time to listen, explain and answer any questions my clients may have as I guide them through the process

I concentrate my practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, tax and business planning, elder law and disability planning, and trust, estate, and tax litigation.. I have authored chapters for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Inc. (MCLE)’s New England Law Practice Collection. I am the current Editor in Chief of the Rhode Island Bar Journal, and have had articles published on a variety of estate planning topics in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly and the Bar Journal. I am a lecturer on estate planning and asset protection for the Massachusetts Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, and National Business Institute.. I have appeared and successfully argued several cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court. I helped to create and implement the Rhode Island Pooled Trust, the first such trust for special needs individuals in the Ocean State. In addition, one of my notable areas of expertise is planning for individuals with interests in both New England and Florida.

I champion my clients causes and atttempt to use my experience with the law, the courts, and the people involved to advocate forcefully for my clients. Attorney Gordon earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bridgewater State College. At Bridgewater, he was appointed Secretary of the Political Science National Honors Society and awarded the President’s Award for Academic Excellence as a Freshman and the Elizabeth Luster award for Excellence in Political Science. He spent a semester interning in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the Office of the Republican Party Leader.. During Law School, Attorney Gordon interned with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office and was awarded the Center for Forensic Economic Studies award for Excellence in Litigation.  Upon graduating law school, he was sworn in as Assistant District Attorney for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office where he successfully prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases in all of the county’s five district courts and was appointed to the county’s Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit..
