I am a North Carolina native and a graduate of the CUNY Law School class of 2017. Prior to law school, I worked at an international reproductive rights and health organization and founded a local nonprofit to help people in North Carolina access medical care.. My legal interests include remedying the collateral consequences of having a criminal record and ensuring civil rights. Outside of the legal profession, I enjoy playing roller derby and trying new foods in the Triangle area.

Asekesai 'Kesai' Arnette is a North Carolina native and grew up in Fayetteville, NC. She attended college at UNCW, majoring in communications and political science with a minor in public administration. After graduating from UNCW in 2002, she attended law school at the University of Miami and graduated  in December 2005. After passing the North Carolina Bar in 2006, she worked as an Associate Attorney at Shapiro & Ingle, one of the largest foreclosure firms in NC and then at Brock, Payne & Meece, also practicing Real Estate Law. She opened her own practice in August 2010 with offices in Raleigh and Durham. She was married in 2011 to Hugh Harris and has two beautiful daughters...Ella and Nora.
