My name is Rebecca, but those close to me call me Becca! I grew up in Camden, far from interstates, malls, or civilization, sustained on sports and church. Since the fourth grade, I’ve known I’d be a lawyer. It’s a calling, not simply a job to me. It’s been my plan so long I can’t even remember how it started!. My roots in my Methodist church are strong – surviving going away to college (Henderson), law school (Bowen), career and family. My time with Ozark Mission Project accidentally shaped the lawyer I was to become – my first summer as a chaperone I saw a baby – two years old, maybe – locked outside with the goats all day long. I reported it and the next day the goats, baby, fence, everything was gone. The results of that report are unknown; but my fate was cemented: giving a voice to the voice-less among us – children, criminal defendants, people with no financial access to justice.. Eight years I spent as a public defender, representing the least among us, and protecting our American values; and, now at Lion Legal Services where I provide, day in and day out, the access to civil and domestic justice Arkansans so desperately need. I’m a member of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and am a bang-up trial attorney with extensive court experience. I thrive in front of juries (100% win- rate, thank you!). Here, I work mostly criminal defense and domestic cases here (surprisingly often, they go hand in hand) and love my work at Lion Legal Services because it allows me the freedom to communicate very well with clients, rely on my co-attorneys, and spend the time on each case that each of my cases deserves (unlike my time at the public defender’s office, where the caseload that I carried prevented me from spending as much time as I would’ve liked to have been able to spend on each of my cases).. I’m proud to say I’m living a romance novel: I met my husband my first year in college and we’ve never broken up! We finished college together, went to law school together, married and passed the bar together and now have two perfect little girls together (Evelynn and Vivian). We live in Little Rock and spend our days trying to maintain an exercise routine and our sanity. When not talking about cases, we spend a lot of time on our boat and arguing over our sports teams rivalries.. My email is
Mr. Matney is a graduate of the UALR Bowen School of Law in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a retired Army veteran who has spent nearly 3 decades serving his country working for and with federal, state, and local governments. Soon after retiring from active military service Mr. Matney worked as a police officer for the city of Sherwood, Arkansas.. Mr. Matney understands what serve and sacrifice means. He brings his military, government, and police experience to the practice of law. Whether it is representing a criminal defendant, helping clients negotiate family and domestic matters, or guiding them through the bureaucracy of the federal government his clients are in good hands.. In addition to earning his Juris Doctor from UALR Bowen School of Law, Mr. Matney also holds a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Central Baptist College, Conway, Arkansas.. Mr. Matney is an active member of Sherwood First Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and bible teacher.

He has argued before the Arkansas Supreme Court and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals several times.. Mr. Short is currently the Past-President for the Pulaski County Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has presented on numerous topics for Continuing Legal Education programs on appellate law and criminal defense. Josh is a founding partner of the Little Rock firm Green & Gillispie, Attorneys at Law. He oversees all of the firm's personal injury cases. He and the other attorneys at Green & Gillispie are very proud of the work they do to deliver justice to Arkansans who have been injured by the negligence and misdeeds of others. Green & Gillispie also specializes in representing victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse. A safer community is the firm's ultimate goal. By holding those who cause injury to others accountable, Green & Gillispie hope to make the community safer one case at a time.
I’m Tori! Lion Legal Services is my baby, starting as Leigh Law in a one room walk-up office with little more than a dream and crossed fingers. Our success is a mix of trial and error, sheer grit, and cultivating the right team. Today we are Lion Legal Services – a North Little Rock staple, living our purpose to evolve the way Arkansans feel about lawyers by resolving life’s problems with affordable, transparent, reasonable, no-nonsense legal solutions.. My commitment to reasonableness and practicality is off the charts and my meter for emotions is far below the average human being. I’m the friend that gives smart, realistic advice to actually solve the problem, not just cry about it! My desire to be well-liked is not outweighed by my willingness to defend, persuade, and argue my position, whether in my cases, in business, or my personal life. Opportunity is not given; it’s taken.. I’m a certified mediator and handle many of our mediations, obviously because of my commitment to practicality.. I’m a great trial lawyer and thoroughly enjoy taking cases to court – I thrive on the competition. Winning is my favorite thing, no matter what it is I’m winning! In my ten years as a lawyer, I’ve handled many real estate, business, contract, and other civil transactions and litigation.. Today, all of my time is spent on administration & management of the firm, including client acquisition, billing, HR, that sort of thing. Although, I’m sometimes still brought in to conduct with clients thorough emotion-less cost/benefit analyses of time, money, and stress, compared to likely results of given legal strategies.. Mount Saint Mary, Ball State, and Indiana Universities are my alma maters. My commitment to student organizations was strong in high school – I can’t even remember all of them. I’m a Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient, led a Girl Scout troop for several years in college and law school, took a long break and am back to leading a Girl Scout troop today for my own daughters! You think I’m a good lawyer? You should see me peddle some Cookies.. I was boring, nerdy, and predictable in high school (math parties, anyone?) I bloomed in college, pledging a sorority (Sigma Kappa for life!) and law school was the most fun I’ve ever had – joining, like, no student organizations, drinking a lot, and steadfastly refusing to apply for law review (waaay too much nauseating research of ridiculous & impractical things like “how water law is affected by the rise in popularity of poodle ownership” or other such nonsense). Do not even get me started on the citations! As young as I was in law school, I was lucky in my self-awareness, recognizing the torture of forcing myself into a detailed round box when I’m a big-picture square peg.. I managed to graduate in the top quarter of my class and escape the snow and big city life of Indianapolis to come home where I met and married a Levy boy, who is currently the director of Education at the Civilian Student Training Program on Camp Robinson. My husband is very funny and very laid back. We are literally living the American Dream of a happy, healthy family, seeing a great work ethic and community commitment paying off. I love him more today than the day we married, mostly because he always laughs at my jokes and never makes me do the laundry; and, despite the fact he cried when he found out he was having two daughters. He says a third baby is out of the question because “he doesn’t want a boy bad enough to risk having three girls!”. Today I sit on the Board of Governors of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Board of Rock City Rescue (an animal non-profit), and am a member of the House of Delegates of the Arkansas Bar Association. I’ve completed several Leadership Academies, including the ABA in 2013, ATLA in 2019, and Arkansas Business in 2020.. My email is and my cell is
I’m Tara! I’ve worked here a few years; because of our growth needs and my dynamic skill set, I’ve worked in every position possible at Lion Legal Services! Litigation Attorney, Supervising Attorney, Ad Litem, Front Office, Back Office…you name it, I’ve done it. I’m great in any position, but my favorite is plain ‘ole attorney, practicing Ad Litem, estate planning, and domestic litigation work.. I spent most of my working years at Rivendell Behavioral Health and Pathfinder, Inc (before and after law school); my work experience with those less fortunate, combined with my social worker heart and love for details is the perfect skill set in high-emotion cases. Most cases should not go to trial simply because there is a reasonable resolution to preserve the relationships which exist long after the case is over…but when they do, I’m your girl! I’m the perfect blend of feisty, clever, and smart and an active member of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. I know my way around a courtroom and I love my clients, working through their issues, cultivating a legal strategy and taking it all the way to the end in a trial, where my competitive streak completely overpowers my naturally empathetic disposition.. I grew up in Bauxite (no Saline County jokes, please), have family in Northwest Arkansas and settled in North Pulaski County. I have four daughters (yes, I know); two sets of twins. No one knows first hand the stress of child-rearing more than I do! My personal co-parenting and vast professional experiences working with behavioral disorders and developmental disabilities provide a unique understanding, which helps me help others find great, long-lasting, solutions to their legal issues.. The purpose and mission of Lion Legal Services, really speak to me. I helped develop them over the last few years and I love working here because we genuinely live this commitment to making reasonable legal advice affordable for Working Arkansans. Everyone deserves realistic, clear help and communication to know if there is a solution or if they should move on with their lives.. Sometimes people get me and Tori mixed up (Tara and Tori, I can see how that happens); when you get to know us better you won’t. Our personalities are opposite, but our strengths compliment each other perfectly! Tori talks about how she’s not good with emotions; thank goodness I am! We are great work and “not work” friends.. People talk about free time, but I’m not sure what that is! (see above: four daughters) Kidding, mostly. I spend my non-working time at home with my girls, garden, and fire pit; no surprise here: these are fairly expected past times for an introvert!. My email is
I’m Kristy – born and raised in the Arkansas Delta. My parents are from Aberdeen and Humphrey, two miniscule towns that if you blink while driving past, you’ll miss them. I’m the first attorney in my extended family as far back as anyone can remember. We were raised up with the belief that we only hire lawyers as an absolute last case scenario because they were so cost-prohibitive. It’s sort of like going to any place that doesn’t list prices – if you have to ask, you can’t really afford them, right? That’s one of the reasons I’m happy to work at Lion Legal. We provide flat rate fees for a variety of services, so you know what you’re going to pay without even having to pick up the phone (and give everybody your life’s story.). My grandparents were a huge part of my life. I was at their house every chance I got, reading on the porch swing, playing in the dirt, or riding around looking at the cows. They instilled deep Southern Baptist values in me that I’ll always carry. We treat people right, we love everybody, and we pray for a whole list of folks every night.. My grandmother was the best person I’ll ever know. Mary B (the B stood for a name she hated, so I’ll leave it out lest she smite me) taught me so much, but most importantly, to always stick up for those that don’t have somebody to help them. We were raised to do what’s right and to help those who need it, and that’s a big part of why I became a lawyer.. Among many other things, she was the best negotiator I’ve ever seen, and I’m proud to say those genes passed straight through to me. I wish y’all could’ve seen her. It’s a shame she wasn’t an attorney herself, but fortunately I learned a ton from her, and love using those skills to help whoever I can.. I understand the struggles a lot of people in Arkansas face because I’ve faced those same struggles. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, I wasn’t related to anyone that I could name-drop to get a job or get out of trouble, and we were definitely the poor relations on every side of the family. This is why I love working here – we cater to Working Arkansans who need help and come from a background similar to mine. You don’t have to be rich for us to help you, you don’t have to know somebody, you just show up and we’ll roar to your rescue.. I had a pretty great childhood that fostered a love of learning, an intuitiveness of right and wrong, and I thrived on figuring out how to move gray areas to a place that benefits people I care about. I think any kid with dirt under their feet and a little freedom is enjoying life, and that segued into a well-rounded adulthood.. I’m married to a pretty great guy that I met in high school band and we have the self-titled Best Kid in the World – although we’re hitting those teenage years and we may snatch that title from him yet. I want to leave a legacy for him like the one my family left for me – of fairness, of Christian values, of helping people that need a hand. His childhood is a lot like mine was–he loves to read, but also loves to romp around outside with various animals. He’s a wild child and loves the country life.. We still live in the Delta, and although we’ve moved a little North and a little West, I still live within an hour’s drive of the place I called home for 30 years. We have a random assortment of animals—I guess I never quite did learn to let go of a farm—but even though we’re up early and asleep late with running our son to what feels like every sport in the world (and band, the same one his daddy and I met in), making sure our ducks and rabbits and all our other animals are happy, and hanging out with our two favorite little girls ever (our nieces), I wouldn’t change a thing.. I grew up in the North East Arkansas delta country surrounded by beans, cotton, rice and mosquitoes. My grandparents are farmers and I initially started in the estate planning field to help them keep the family farm in the family after my grandparents pass, while avoiding as much estate tax as possible. Since then I have helped many farming families including cattlemen, businesses and professional family practices set up their estate plans. We have wonderful clients all over the state. I enjoy my family and hiking with my dogs.
I grew up in a small town, Columbus Arkansas. As a young farmhand, my grandparents taught me the importance of giving back and helping his community. When I began my firm in 2008, I knew I wanted to take that passion further by helping injured Arkansans through some of the most difficult times in their lives. I was appointed to serve as a Special Justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court by Governor Mike Beebe. I never wants someone hurting to feel alone in their fight for justice.
Hi. I’m Zoë! I’m originally from Washington state, born and raised. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). We moved to Arkansas for me to attend law school and loved it! I’ve graduated, married, bought a house, found a job, have dogs and cats and a baby soon. We love southern living and my husband and I are here to stay.. Before law school and even college, I had several jobs including packing and storing apples at an apple warehouse, grocery store clerk, lifeguard, and swim instructor. I’m from Yakima, Washington, which is primarily known for its agriculture, hops, and wineries. With that, there were, and still are, a ton of less fortunate, underrepresented people in the town who need legal services. I guess that comes with every city, huh? That’s how I found my love for becoming an attorney and off I went. To get on track for law school, I majored in Criminal Justice and Criminology with minors in Political Science and Psychology. I’ve always stayed busy and involved, as I was Scholarship Chairwoman and on the board of Academics for Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Beta Sigma chapter. In addition, I participated in a $1,000,000 research project in the Criminal Justice Department at Washington State University.. While in law school, I clerked at several different places and gained substantial experience in criminal defense, family law, property law, social security disability, and even some personal injury law. I’ve found great love in criminal defense and family law, which is why I am the perfect fit for the Lion Legal Services team. I am outgoing, ambitious, and strong-willed. I understand what it means to be in need, and worried about how the legal process works. That’s why I’m the gal for you. There will never be a time that you can’t reach out to me to ask questions and be reassured that I’ve got your back, whether in the office and in the courtroom.. In my spare time, I enjoy crafting and DIY projects, spending time on my porch playing cards, or simply hanging out with friends. I especially love the summer and the lakes!. My email is
Hi, I’m Paige! I’m a Pine Bluff native turned Little Rock transplant. As a first-generation immigrant on my dad’s side, I’m no stranger to struggle. However, if there is anything that my upbringing has taught me, it’s that, even in the face of adversity, hard work and determination go a long way. I live by this mindset, and I know that it, along with my desire to help others, led me to my calling of being an attorney. My strong work ethic means no matter what I’m doing – personally or professionally – I’m always prepared and out work my opponent.. My journey to becoming an attorney began at William H. Bowen School of Law, where I discovered my passion for civil and domestic litigation (among other things). After graduating in the top quarter of my class, my first position was in a small firm focusing on real estate litigation and complex estate planning, before joining Lion Legal where I continue my real estate/complex civil litigation and estate planning practice, but expanded my practice to include my first law school love – domestic litigation.. Today, my practice looks exactly as I imagined in law school. That is, spending my days (and sometimes nights and weekends) protecting the rights of everyday folks and fellow Arkansans in the areas of law that are closest to the heart.
Hi, I’m Elizabeth! I’ve moved around quite a bit growing up, but Dog Town is home and I’m a grad of NLRHS! I’m in Conway with plans in the near future to relocate my husband and two cats—Lilith and Stevie—back to NLR.. My Theatre degree is from UCA, which doesn’t leave a lot of employment options in Central Arkansas. I began working at a local manufacturing company in Conway as a Shipping and Logistics Coordinator after graduating and that led me to law school!. I am a 2019 graduate of Bowen and spent five years at the Pulaski County Assessor’s Office until 2021, when I accepted a position with Lion Legal Services as a litigation attorney.. I grew up off MacArthur when Mojo’s was Andy’s Dairy Freeze and I could walk across the street to the Hostess factory outlet to buy a loaf of bread for fifty cents (and all the junk food my dad would allow). My weekends were spent at Burns Park, playing on the original rocket slide (because if you didn’t leave with some cuts and bruises then you didn’t play hard enough) or watching my younger sister play softball tournaments.. Starlite Diner was a staple at my mom’s house, and it was a sad day for her when the Gettin’ Place permanently closed. I still, to this day, maintain that the Little Caesar’s on Camp Robinson has the best Crazy Bread. This is a major point of contention in my household as my husband disagrees with me, saying the Crazy Bread is the same at all locations, but that’s because he’s from Sherwood and doesn’t know any better.. What drew me to LLS is the fact that it serves the community I was raised in. Hailing from Levy, I’ve seen local businesses shuttered and chain restaurants come and go. I have seen firsthand what poverty does to families, schools, and children. I’ve always wondered how I could give back to the community that shaped me.. Working with this firm, which provides affordable legal services to low- and middle-income clients, seemed like the perfect opportunity. Legal representation should not leave you bankrupt, especially when you are living paycheck to paycheck like my family did during my childhood. Having access to affordable and extraordinary legal services should not be the exception; it should be the norm for hardworking Arkansans.. My Granny, aka my dad’s grandma, raised nine children on her own and was the most brutally honest woman I have ever known. She was a sweet Church icon who would not hesitate to tell someone what they needed to hear without sugarcoating it. I like to think that a bit of her perseverance and her realistic approach to life rubbed off on me, and I connect with Lion Legal because their values are my values too.. My email is – don’t hesitate to contact me to roar to your rescue!
Hi! I’m Kerrigan, Arkansas native, born and raised in the small town of Calico Rock – which I affectionately refer to as “The Hills.” Unless you’re from the area, most people don’t know that Calico Rock is in North Central Arkansas. Almost all my large family (15 nieces and nephews large), still live in or near my hometown, so I visit “the Hills” regularly!. I attended and graduated from the only college I applied to – the University of Arkansas. Starting around junior high, being a lawyer was my career choice. My fate as an attorney was guaranteed once I chose my double majors of communication and Political Science, because those majors limited my choices to the law or education…. And I definitely don’t (I didn’t then and don’t now) have the patience to be a teacher.. One of the only cliché things about me is that I took a “gap year” after completing my undergraduate degree, moving home and working in the legal field to “be sure” about my law school plans. Even commuting over an hour each way that year, in my position at one of the few law firms within a 100-mile radius of home, could not dissuade me from law school (and law school loans)! That’s the kind of tenacity everyone deserves in their lawyer, and the tenacity I have in spades.. My “Street Law” experience that year – a term referring to common legal issues such as criminal defense, personal injury, family law, estate planning, and real estate – foreshadowed my landing at Lion Legal. A firm which, when you drill down to the basics, is a street law firm, founded on the basic principles of resolving everyday life issues with practicality, transparency, & efficiency. We often comment that we are lawyers, not therapists (and that’s true!); but the satisfaction I get from being able to help regular people like me get the best result possible, close that chapter and move on with their lives is maybe kind of close to the empathy required of a therapist? Sharing that feeling of accomplishment and conclusion with our clients never gets old.. My time is mostly spent in the Civil and Probate Divisions at Lion Legal, but my negotiation and creative problem solving skills translate to all Lion Legal practice areas. Little Rock is my home now, where I live with the most spoiled cat in the world, Marty, spending my leisure time on DIY projects and trying (unsuccessfully) to tame my fiercely competitive nature on regular Game Nights.
Hey y’all, I’m Jessie. And may I just say, it is great to say “y’all” again! I recently moved back to Arkansas after six years in the Missouri Midwest. I graduated from University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Law in 2021, where I was on the Dean’s List, competed in appellate court competitions, Law Income Tax Clinic, the Sports Law Society, the Emissary Program, and the Mentor Program. After passing the bar exam, I hung by shingles and opened my own practice in rural Northwest Missouri. I spent two years in general practice and was elected Prosecutor of Mercer County Missouri during that time.Ultimately though, there is no place like home, so in the spring of 2024 that is just where I returned. I am excited to learn how to serve clients in even more areas under the tutelage of the Lion Legal leadership. Before going to law school, I was (and still am!) a true-blue Arkansas chick. I was raised in Little Rock, then went to University of Arkansas at Fayetteville on a swimming & diving scholarship. I majored in Criminal Justice & Sociology, with minors in Legal Studies and Social Work.Though I am no longer a student athlete, I still love to compete in whatever venue tickles my fancy. Lately that has been mixed martial arts and running, but nowhere does that competitive edge kick in more than when advocating for my clients.“Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready” is my moto, so clients can trust me when I say that I will always be prepared to zealously represent their interests at every stage of the case.It is good to be home, and I am so excited to serve my neighbors!
Hello, I’m Amanda! I am a Central Arkansas native with roots in the Delta and Northeast Arkansas. I love being an Arkansan, and travel is a passion of mine.. After graduating from Pulaski Academy in Little Rock I explored new areas of the country and the world. While attending Vanderbilt for undergrad and then University of Georgia for Law School, I studied abroad in Germany and China. Since graduation I’ve made multiple international trips, most recently to Vietnam. I love adventures but Arkansas will always be home.. Since law school I’ve focused my career on community service. Not long after graduation I started as an Equal Justice Works Legal Fellow for Legal Aid of Arkansas in the Delta office. Legal Aid provided the opportunity to engage with the community beyond the courtroom and to travel extensively around the state for various hearings and legal clinics. After my fellowship and a brief practice in Memphis, I moved to Fayetteville in Northwest Arkansas to work as a Public Defender for Washington County.. Despite four rewarding years in Fayetteville, I accepted a position at the Pulaski County Attorney’s office to be closer to family. It's great to be back home in Central Arkansas!. One thing I’ve learned from my time as a Legal Aid attorney and a Public Defender is that people rarely go to see a lawyer because they are having a good day, so I strive to always approach clients with compassion and honesty. I am an extrovert at heart who thrives on problem solving, and I am not afraid to fight for our clients in the conference room or the court room.. When I’m not busy with work I love spending time with friends, family and any dog I can find. My dream job, other than being a lawyer of course, is to open a dog rescue. I’m also a huge book nerd and love Arkansas history. Anytime you need a recommendation for a great trip around the state just ask!
