Before studying law, Chris attended Kansas State University where he earned both a Master of Arts in Spanish Language Acquisition and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Before joining the Overland Park, Kansas divorce and family law attorneys at Stange Law Firm, Chris most recently worked as an attorney for a child support government contractor. In this role, he worked to establish paternity and child support for the Kansas Department for Children and Families in Sedgwick County, Kansas, which included drafting of pleadings and other legal documents for a large caseload, representing DCF in court proceedings, and interacting with internal and external clients. He also worked to modify child support obligations for his clients. Before this, Chris worked in various legal roles over the past 20 years including as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Kansas Office of Administrative Hearings, a Deputy Director of Child Support Services for the Department for Children and Families in Kansas, and a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City. Chris is a dedicated family lawyer who takes pride in his legal work. Outside of his legal work, Chris is dedicated to giving back to his community. Sarah Sypher graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in May of 2004 where she earned the 2004 Medal of Academic Excellence from the American Bankruptcy Institute and was a member of KU’s 2004 Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition team.  Sarah also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in psychology from the University of Kansas School of Business.  Sarah studied abroad in 1992 to Kanagawa University in Hirasutaka, Japan to study language, culture and business.. She took 6 years off between earning her Business degree and law school to experience life after college.  During that time Sarah worked in small business management and accounting in Chicago and Kansas.  She also traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and even Africa to experience different cultures, languages and lifestyles.. Sarah is now settled back near her hometown of Lawrence, Kansas where she and her husband spend their time enjoying a more quiet life in rural Douglas County.. Since earning her JD, Sarah has limited her practice to consumer bankruptcy law.  She founded Sypher Law in 2005.

The often combativeness of the practice of law can be intellectually stimulating and emotionally fulfilling--but the focus must be on the impact it has on the lives of our clients and those around us.  This is where the ethics of each individual attorney must be be engaged and managed to serve our purpose in this role, rather than in feathering our individuals needs, legitimate or otherwise..
