I am proud to be a native Arkansan and lover of the Ozarks. I grew up in Morning Star, Arkansas, near the Buffalo National River, but have made Northwest Arkansas my home since attending college at the University of Arkansas. I graduated with an honors degree in English from the U of A in 2002, and completed law school at the University of Arkansas in 2005. After law school, I worked for a brief time at Blanchard Springs Caverns as a tour guide before joining a local criminal defense firm. My practice focused mainly on criminal defense, appellate cases, and civil rights. While at the firm, I also contributed to a legal handbook and accompanied my employer on speaking engagements on both the east and west coasts. During this time, I was elected, and still serve, on the board of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I also currently serve as president of the Buffalo River Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the Buffalo National River, and on the Committee of 100, a group dedicated to supporting the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas. Both of these boards support causes near and dear to my heart, and on the weekends you will often find my daughter and me on the river or listening to folk/bluegrass music. I consider it a privilege to help clients through difficult legal times, and understand the toll a change in familial circumstances can take on an individual.

I am a sixth-generation native of Northwest Arkansas and member of the last unified class of Rogers High School. Seth completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, where he was a Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete and Crossroads League All-Conference performer for the Wildcats baseball team. After retiring his batting gloves, he decided the best avenue for his passion for competition was to become a trial lawyer.. While a student at the University of Arkansas School of Law, Seth prosecuted cases as a Rule XV Student Practitioner for the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office and served as Note & Comment Editor for the Journal of Food Law & Policy. He also clerked for the Civil Department of the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office and for Benton County Circuit Court Judge Brad Karren.. Upon graduation, Seth began his career working for large insurance companies in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. During that time, he represented defendants in civil jury trials across the state—obtaining favorable verdicts for his clients in each case.. After having worked first-hand with those insurance companies, Seth decided that he had a duty and obligation to help injured people that were struggling to get fair treatment from insurance companies.. Hello, my name is James Curtis and I am a private attorney practicing family law out of Fayetteville Arkansas. Some of the best advice I have received from another attorney is to never see a client's file as just another case. It is their life, and as their attorney you are there to solve the problem that the client brought to you. These words have stuck with me and lead me to choose family law as my practice area. An individual's family is such a crucialpart of his or her world, and issues like custody and domestic violence can have a life-long impact on people's lives. Practicing in this area allows me to make positive changes for clients that will improve the quality of life for themselves and their children, and I find that extremely exciting.
