I have spent my entire legal career as a criminal defense attorney.  I have tried a multitude of murder cases, including two death penalty trials.  My practice is mostly in felony defense, with a special emphasis on drug and marijuana cases.  We also have a proven record in successfully defending misdemeanor charges, including D.U.I. cases.

I have been practicing law in Sonoma County since 2009.  Prior to joining Tavis & Bunyard, I was an associate at Perry, Johnson, Anderson, Miller & Moskowitz, LLP for over three years and previously was the senior family law associate at Beck Law, PC.  I have made court appearances in the surrounding North Bay counties, including Sonoma, Marin, Lake, Napa and Mendocino.. I have always wanted to help people.  But after many years as a mid-level accounting supervisor, I felt completely unfulfilled and decided it was time to follow my childhood dream and go to law school.  I attended Empire College School of Law, in Sonoma County, California, and graduated in 2011.  I took the California State Bar Exam in July 2011 and was admitted to the bar in December 2011.. I have been a single mom for most of my children's lives.  I have been through divorce and I have been through custody cases.  I have a first hand perspective of what it's like to be a family law client.  Having this experience allows me to truly understand you.  It also allows me to have a real perspective on not only what you are going through emotionally, but also what you can expect throughout the family law process.. I came to California to study law at the University of Santa Clara, not realizing I would stay.  After law school, I practiced in San Jose at a medium sized, commercial litigation firm for 3 years, and then moved to Santa Rosa, where I have lived and practiced law since 1990.  I love the wine country, with all of its beauty and culture.  The food and wine are unbeatable.  I feel privileged to practice law and raise a family in an area that is so beautiful.. When I went to law school, I thought I would become a prosecutor of crimes, a District Attorney.  Instead, I fell in love with personal injury work while working as a law clerk for Joe Carcione on the Peninsula.  So now I prosecute personal injury claims.  I love my work!. I began working at small, longstanding Sonoma County criminal defense office in 2002 when I was only sixteen.  Since I can remember, I had dreamed of becoming a criminal defense attorney and wanted to protect individual’s rights while making a stand for justice.  I eventually finished my undergraduate schooling and while continuing to work closely with several established attorneys, I started law school.  Growing up in a criminal defense law office allowed me to learn the ins and outs of criminal law, both in theory and in practical application.. I advanced to a successful practicing attorney while working for that same law office, and then following several years of experience, education, and training in that setting, I opened my own law office in Santa Rosa dedicated to intelligent and zealous criminal defense advocacy, and focused on providing excellent legal services to clients..
