While in law school, I served as a representative to the Student Bar Association and diversity chair of the Phi Delta Phi legal honors society, while also practicing under the Third Year Practice Act representing a variety of indigent criminal defendants and a death row inmate in Habeas Corpus proceedings throughout the state.. I sit on the Board of Directors for the Asian American Insurance Network, have been named Super Lawyers' Rising Star for the last 4 consecutive years, received an AV Preeminent Peer & Judicial Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell for ethical standards and professional liability, have been named as one of Georgia Trend's 2022 Legal Elite.

I have been a construction lawyer for 24 years.  Before becoming a lawyer, I was an estimator and project manager in commercial construction.

I am a practicing attorney devoted to assisting people with difficult legal problems particularly those involving alcohol and drug use.  As a former assistant district attorney, I learned the ins and outs of criminal practice and criminal procedure.. I enjoy meeting new people even under difficult circumstances and make every effort to leave those I work with better off both legally and personally.. I have been married to Catherine Ann Thomas of Columbia, South Carolina for over 20 years and we have lived in Atlanta, Georgia for most of that time.  We have three children, Tommy, Margaret, and Anna..
