I am a founding partner of Carden Dotzler, PLLC and head the Criminal Defense Practice Group. I concentrate my practice on criminal defense, DWI defense and traffic defense, along with a specialized focus in defending clients who are charged with serious felony offenses. I regularly represent clients who are charged with criminal, DWI and traffic offenses in Onondaga County Court, Syracuse City Court, and other courts throughout Central New York and New York State. I also am the lead attorney for The New York Traffic Ticket Lawyers, which specializes in defending clients who have been accused of traffic infractions, whether that be simple tickets for not wearing seat belts, or more serious offenses like DWI and Reckless Driving.Before entering private practice, I served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office for seven years. There, I successfully prosecuted hundreds of felony-level white collar crimes in the Economic Fraud and Financial Crimes Bureau, including embezzlement, forgery, identity theft, tax evasion, counterfeiting and welfare fraud crimes. I also handled a variety of misdemeanor and traffic-related offenses, including the prosecution of larcenies and drug offenses. At the District Attorney’s Office, I gained valuable trial experience and spent countless hours in the courtroom, working closely with local law enforcement, fellow prosecutors and forensic experts.I earned my Law Degree (J.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Heather is a Senior Attorney at Nave Law where her practice focuses on family and matrimonial law and civil litigation. Heather came to Nave Law Firm after working at another Syracuse law firm, where she was the firm’s lead matrimonial attorney. Heather has extensive experience litigating family court and matrimonial matters, including complex matters of custody and equitable distribution. Heather’s other professional experience includes working as a journalist, editor, and marketing manager.. Heather is a member of the Attorney for the Child panel in Onondaga County, the Onondaga County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the Northern District of New York Bar Association.. Heather graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where she served as editor of the Buffalo Intellectual Property Law Journal and was an associate member of the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review and the Buffalo Journal of Gender, Law, and Social Policy. She is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, where she majored in journalism and mass communication.
