I started my career defending people accused of criminal charges, I lived for the rush of a jury trial and the thrill of going up against the system. As it does though, fate intervened when a close friend of mine got into a nasty custody dispute with his ex-wife. He asked me to step-up as a lawyer and as a friend. At the conclusion of that matter I had found that I had a real talent for Domestic Relations law. It turns out I had the drive and ruthlessness it took to be an effective advocate in the family courts. Sometimes you have to take a few risks, that is what I did. Working with Mark Weingart, my father and mentor, I built up a Domestic Relations subsidiary to the existing Criminal Law firm. I am proud to say that now I have left my own mark on a well known and locally renowned company that my father started over 27 years ago.I enjoy Family Law because the rules are very relaxed and attorneys are afforded a great deal of freedom to handle cases as they see fit; as a proud Libertarian, I appreciate that. I am afforded a unique position in the Weingart Firm, in that while I primarily handle family law matters, I still cover the criminal calendar when I am needed, after all, that's where it all started.
I have over 20 years of experience in representing individuals and small businesses in bankruptcy. In fact, representing individuals and small businesses in bankruptcy cases is all that I do. Members of my support staff have been with me for over 15 years. We get a great deal of satisfacation in helping people get a fresh start.. We have a proven track record in obtaining successful results for our clients. We recently reviewed the records at the Phoenix Bankruptcy Court for the period of March 1, 2011 through April 30, 2011 to see how our sucess rate compared to other attorney's. We found that 100% of the Chapter 13 Plan's filed by McDonald Law Offices were approved by the court within 12 months of the filing of the case. The average time that it took our plans to be approved was 7.3 months. When we looked at other attorney's we found that only 29.7% of the plans filed by all other attorney's combined were approved within 12 months of the filing of the case. Of the 29.7% that were approved, it took an average of 10.2 months to obtain approval. Surprisingly, 14% of the cases filed by other attorney's were rejected by the court within 12 months of the case being filed.
