In 2018, Howard briefed and argued two cases regarding the application of a state-based grave site protection law to burial mounds in front of the Wisconsin Supreme Court – on behalf of the Ho-Chunk Nation. Howard previously worked with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe on enrollment, gaming, election and tribal governance issues. Professional Experience. Tom’s practice over the past 35 years has been extremely varied.. He’s practiced in complex litigation, hearings and trials in state courts, federal courts, and bankruptcy courts, in private arbitrations, mediations and appeals. He also has substantial experience representing debtors, creditors, trustees and committees in Bankruptcy Court and has successfully reorganized several companies and individuals, and represented creditors.. Tom started his practice in 1981 at Treon, Warnicke, Dann & Roush of Phoenix (after having been a law clerk there for two years) in the commercial practice section, where he was trained in litigation and trial skills by two former Maricopa County Superior Court judges. He started what became a substantial bankruptcy practice in 1982 when he represented Clifford Wolfswinkel in bankruptcy court in his dispute with his brothers. Patrick is a veteran and spent 11 years in the military.  A former infantry officer and airborne ranger he continues to be active in the military community.  He continues to volunteer with Wills for Heroes and Victory House, a local veterans shelter.. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family and participating in triathalons.

My practice focuses on helping businesses protect their intangible assets from disloyal employees and unfair competition.. I am a student of the law, with a focus on how lawyers can better meet the needs of our clients. To that end, I am working on an advanced legal degree -- an LL.M. in Litigation Management from Baylor University -- to gain additional knowledge and skills to help me represent my clients more predictably, efficiently, and effectively.. This is my second LL.M degree. After 20 years in practice, I returned to school to receive an LLM in Biotechnology and Genomics from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. The program is the first of its type in the world. Since 2008, I have been an adjunct professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, teaching a course in Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants. I also wrote the textbook for the course.. I am a frequent speaker and author on employment and intellectual property issues. I have an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell. I serve on the Board of the East Valley Partnership, a coalition of community, business, government, and educational leaders that advocates to improve quality of life in the region.

My practice emphasizes real estate, construction, and business law.  For nearly 20 years, I have successfully represented developers, contractors, subcontractors, homeowers, landlords, lenders, title insurance companies, commercial general liability insurance companies, and other businesses in disputes  involving, among other things, real estate titles, real estate transactions, commercial lease agreements, mechanic's liens, construction defect claims, insurance coverage, surety claims, ownership of closely-held corporations, and various types of business agreements.  As a mixed litigation and transactional attorney, I also have substantial experience drafting, revising and negotiating a variety of contracts, including construction contracts, subcontracts, real estate purchase agreements, commercial and residential lease agreements, employment contracts, non-compete agreements, non-disclosure agreements, settlement agreements, and vendor contracts. In addition to handling cases in state and federal courts, I have represented several clients in adminstrative proceedings with the Federal Mining Safety and Health Administration, Arizona Registrar of Contractors, Nevada State Contractors Board, and Arizona Corporation Commission.

My name is Glenn Roethler.  I am originally from the Puyallup area of Washington State.  I grew up on a small farm where I learned to appreciate diligence and hard work.. I paid my way through school by working in construction.  I have assisted in building several houses from start to finish while working for my Grandfather's construction company.. I have many outdoor interests.  Of these, motorcycle riding has become my chief hobby.  I also struggle with playing guitar and would like to start struggling to play drums (I am sure the neighbors will appreciate it).

Ms. Preston joined the legal arena with a background in real estate and property management. Before attending law school, Ms. Preston worked for a real estate and property management firm where she managed residential rental properties and homeowners associations, as well as the firm’s real estate portfolio. Her experience working one-on-one with homeowners, board members, landlords and tenants has translated into a legal career where she understands not only the legal aspects involved in real estate matters, but also the day-to-day management of real estate. Before joining Vial Fotheringham, Ms. Preston worked for Davis Miles McGuire Gardner, PLLC practicing Homeowners Association, Real Estate, Landlord/Tenant, Civil Litigation and General Business Law.

Mr. Soelberg is a communicator. He understands that attorneys are most effective when they are able to communicate clearly how the legalese impacts the business client’s day to day procedure and operation. Whether it is in the arena of operating agreements or estate planning, he doesn’t believe in over complicating the process.. Mr. Soelberg has a unique perspective that comes from hands on, private sector employer experience.  He understands the importance of effectively navigating legal risk reduction practices with real world business management.  Prior to joining the law firm of Davis Miles McGuire Gardner, Mr. Soelberg worked in house for one of the largest single member owned smoothie QSR franchisee.  With 38 store locations between Seattle, Washington and Phoenix, Arizona, and averaging anywhere between 600-800 employees at a time, there he gained invaluable practical legal and business experience, executing asset purchase agreements and franchise documents, supervising human resource administration, and overseeing all real estate and lease agreements. He saw firsthand how a thoughtful blend of both legal and business procedures reduced risk and complied with regulations, while maximizing business operation.. Mr. Soelberg is commonly referred to simply as “Erica Sandstrom’s husband.” They are the proud parents of five beautiful daughters.  He is an Arizona native and enjoys an active role in local politics. He loves people, the outdoors, cycling, college football, and smoked meats.

Mr. Medina, an Arizona native, grew up in the small mining community of Bagdad, Arizona. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 1989, Mr. Medina received a Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship to attend Creighton University School of Law. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1992.. Mr. Medina joined Davis Miles McGuire and Gardner in December 2017. He handles a wide variety of cases including: products liability, catastrophic injury cases, police misconduct, negligence, employment cases, class actions, medical malpractice, and other complex litigation matters. Since 1999, Mr. Medina has focused his practice on representing individuals and their families who have suffered catastrophic injuries or death. These cases often involve complex litigation against tire manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers, and other large corporations.. Mr. Medina was admitted to the Arizona Supreme Court in 1993. He was admitted to the Colorado Supreme Court in 1995. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and United States District Court for the District of Arizona. Mr. Medina has also been admitted pro hac vice in numerous states including: California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas. He is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Attorney’s Information Exchange Group, and Million Dollar Trial Lawyers.

Matthew Lopez was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Arizona State University and received his undergraduate degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business. Matthew graduated at the top of his class and was recruited to work for a Fortune 500 Company. While in law school, Matthew was a Staff Editor of the Phoenix Law Review Journal and was a board member of the Hispanic Law Students Association. As a member of the Phoenix Law Review Journal, Matthew authored an award winning publication regarding the environmental effects of globalization. Matthew has worked for a well respected Maricopa County Superior Court judge, the City of Scottsdale Attorney's Office in its real property and civil litigation department and for a highly regarded civil litigation firm. Matthew is well respected within the legal community and collaborates, on a frequent basis, with several other highly respected attorneys.  As a member of the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, Matthew is consistently honing his legal knowledge and skills, in an effort to provide his clients with the best possible legal representation.
