Mr. Roop is a cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A. 1985) and an honors graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D. 1991). Jennifer Kim joined ROOP XANTTOPOULOS BABOUNAKIS PLLC in late 2013. She has experience working in all areas of family law, including cases involving divorce, child custody and support, spousal support, and equitable distribution.. Jennifer received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law at University Park. While attending law school, Jennifer served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Ivan D. Davis in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. During the school year, she clerked in the Office of Chief Counsel at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of State where she worked on matters involving the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs and the Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations. During her third year, Jennifer served as Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association at Penn State. Jennifer has also volunteered with the Youth Court of D.C. facilitating alternative sentencing for first-time juvenile offenders in the District of Columbia.. I joined Roop Xanttopoulos Babounakis, PLLC, in the Fall 2016. Since 2012, I have focused my experience in all areas of family law, including cases involving divorce, child custody and support, spousal support, domestic violence and equitable distribution.. I received my Bachelors of Science, summa cum laude, in Psychology at George Mason University in 2011 and my Juris Doctor from George Mason School of Law in 2014. While in law school, I was a member of the Civil Rights Law Journal, George Mason Inns of Court and Virginia Bar Associate Pro Bono Society. In addition, I completed two externship programs with retired Fairfax County Judges Klein and Judge Alden. As part of the program, I interned at the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and Whitestone Young PC, where I focused in both criminal law, domestic violence cases and other family law litigation..
