My parents taught me to always treat others as you would like to be treated. Both my parents worked to provide for our family and they passed their work ethic to me. The benefit I have is I enjoy my work helping people.. Over the years I have been amazed as how insurance companies try and take advantage of people. I have helped over a thousand clients during my legal career with their claims against insurance companies. I have also been a volunteer advocate for people by speaking out against insurance company attempts to pass legislation to prevent injured victims from obtaining fair compensation for their injuries. This advocacy has taken me to Tallahassee, where I have spoken before multiple legislative committees of the Florida House and Florida Senate on protecting the rights of injured accident victims. The Florida Consumer Advocate invited me to serve on a blue ribbon panel discussion of Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault Law. I was the only practicing attorney who participated in a roundtable discussion with Governor Scott, CFO Atwater, and the Consumer Advocate concerning Florida No-Fault Insurance Coverage.. I enjoy meeting with my clients and offer free consultations for all potential clients.

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and went to the University of Florida in Gainesville for College, and then Law School. I interned while in Law School at The Law Offices of Eilon Krugman-Kadi, P.A. where I worked on all types of Accident claims for people injured in auto accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, airplane accidents, dog bites, construction accidents, and other negligence cases. I also worked on accident claims and Workers' Compensation claims for people who were injured on the job.. During the summer of 1988, and 1989, I interned for 2 lawfirms that defended the insurance companies against all kinds of accident claims - such as automobile accidents, silp and fall accidents, construction accidents, and also Workers' Compensation claims.. In 1990, I accepted a job offer with one of the law firms I had interned at-Neilsen and Associates, and passed the Bar Exam the first time, and worked there for the next three years. I switched to the Plaintiff's side in 1993 where I worked solely on behalf of injured people at the law firm of Wooten, Honeywell, & Kest. I began to also do Disability claims. I made Partner in 1997, and in 1999 started my own law firm-where I have been ever since! I focus on the areas of Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Wrongful Death Claims, Construction Accidents, & Disability Claims! Let me represent you!!!
I represents individuals who have been seriously injured or have lost loved ones, both on or off the job, often due to the negligence or carelessness of others. The types of cases my firm handles are:
I come from a middle class background in Lake County, Fl where I went to Eustis High School. I worked very hard as a young man as it was very important to my parents that I develop a good work ethic and to appreciate honest hard work. In high school, I mowed lawns and worked at a bookstore to save money for college. After high school, I was accepted to the University of Florida.. I did my undergraduate work and went to law school at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. I graduated summa cum laude, which is the highest honor you can recieve at graduation.. I then went to work immediately practicing law for Attorney Richard Troutman. I specialize in personal injury cases including motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability cases, products liability cases and medical malpractice cases. I have focused my practice in these areas of law since I finished law school in 2003.. I believe in not only working very hard for my clients but also being available to them and giving great personal service. I try to anwser every one of my clients' telephone calls personally and if not call them back as soon as possible. My clients speak to me about their cases, not a paralegal or a case manager. I handle virtually every aspect of their case from start to finish. I don't advertise on the television or radio and I don't believe in these forms of advertisement. I rely on personal referrals from past clients and referrals from other attorneys as my sole means of new clients.
I am proud to say, we are not an T.V. advertising firm. Our clients come to us by referrals from current and former clients, other lawyers, doctors, our friends in the community, and people who know of us by reputation. We are very proud of reputation for responsiveness to our clients and our genuine interest in the welfare of our clients. Being a non advertising firm means that we have more time to dedicate to our clients’ cases, and I think it is for this reason we have a higher level of client satisfaction compared to the experience of clients at an advertising firm.. I have been continuously practicing law in Florida since 1990 when I started my career as a prosecutor for Janet Reno in Miami. A prosecutor has the highest ethical responsibility of any practice in law, and I admire prosecutors and enjoyed this part of my career. After working as a prosecutor for a few years, I transitioned into private practice, representing victims in civil claims for injury and wrongful death. I have tried cases involving serious injury and death, claims against insurance companies, and represented hundreds of individuals and various civil claims. In the past ten years, my practice has grown to include two unique sub specialties within my civil practice, hospital lien litigation and automotive diminished value claims. I am known within Florida as a resource for help to attorneys and individuals grappling with hospitals’ aggressive tactics of attaching hospital liens against the settlement of a patient. This is a slowly evolving area of law in which clear answers are rare, and collaboration among lawyers is essential for civil practitioners. Diminished value claims are gaining in popularity due to increased consumer awareness of the ability to seek compensation for diminution in value to an automobile, motorcycle, RV, bus, or any valuable car owned by an individual or corporation. Most lawyers seem disinterested in this area of law, but I thoroughly enjoy handling this area of practice. I have found that the owners of expensive cars and motorcycles who retain me in diminished value claims seem to be some of the most satisfied and grateful clients, and this is a great feeling for me as a lawyer.

Being injured and under the Workers Comp system is a nightmare because the laws in Florida are not designed to help the injured workers, but to help the insurance company and employer by limiting your benefits. My goal is to work with my clients to obtain as many benefits as possible under the law. I personally handle all of my cases. If you call my office, I will talk to you. If I am not available I will schedule a conference so I can answer any questions you may have regarding your case. I look forward to working with you.
