I was born in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico to a Russian Mother and a Mexican Father. My parents met in Moscow where my father went to study his undergraduate degree. When my mother was pregnant my parents moved to Mexico to be closer to my father’s family and they began work as educators. After only a few years in Mexico my parents decided that they wanted to continue their education in America and began applying for visas so that we could immigrate to this country as a family. The University of Texas accepted my parents into their Ph.D. program and allowed me to come into the United States with my parents. I have been a Longhorn fan ever since.After my parents received their PhDs from UT they both accepted jobs as professors in Joplin, Missouri and I began middle school in Missouri. I graduated high school in Missouri and to stay close to my family I decided to attend Washington University in St. Louis on a scholarship. I graduated with dual degrees from Arts & Sciences and the Business school and decided to work after college. I found the corporate life to be monotonous and without passion and made a decision to attend law school after only a year of work in the business sector. I had excelled in debate both in high school and college and decided that public speaking and oration were better suited for me than the corporate life.I attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas for law school in my desperate attempt to get back to Texas after having to deal with Midwest winters for such a long time. I graduated in 2010 and began litigating immediately with Legal Aid. I wanted to help people who were suffering, and I began doing Veteran’s and VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) work immediately to help those who needed it most. I found the courtroom and litigation to be the most rewarding work I had ever done in my life. I have continued to work in Family Law since the beginning of my career and I have devoted my entire career exclusively to family issues.My wife, Elizabeth Shehan, and I have a toddler named Dmitri and a baby named Mikhail that have helped me to understand the difficulties of being a parent more than any case or legal argument ever could. In our spare time, my wife and I enjoy competing against each other in fantasy football. I speak Spanish, Russian and English and am always excited to get to speak to other native speakers around Austin.

I was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. I grew up cheering for the University of Kansas Jayhawks, so naturally, I earned my Bachelor’s of Social Work, Master’s of Social Work, and Juris Doctor from KU.. While pursuing my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, I volunteered at the local domestic violence center and answered the crisis hotline. When I graduated with my Master’s degree, I started working for the domestic violence center full time. I helped victims safety plan around violence, leave abusive relationships safely, connected them with attorneys to represent them in legal proceedings, and accompanied them to Court as a source of support. Watching the injustices that survivors of domestic violence faced in the legal system is what led me to pursue becoming an attorney.. While attending the University of Kansas School of Law, I focused on litigation and interned for the local district attorney's office. After law school, the mountains called my name so I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where I worked in child support enforcement for three years. As a child support enforcement lawyer, I established paternity and support orders, modified support orders, prosecuted contempt actions for non-payment of child support, and facilitated a problem-solving court. I was actively involved in the Ben S. Wendelken American Inn of Court and the El Paso County Young Lawyers Association. On the weekends, I could be found in the mountains with my husband, either hiking with my golden retriever or snowboarding.. My husband is a native Texan so we were very excited when his military service brought us to central Texas. Practicing family law in Texas has been the most enjoyable part of my legal career and assiting clients in the most important transition of their lives has been the most rewarding part of my legal practice.

I was born and raised in Odessa, Texas and  graduated from Permian high School in 1978. I  then attended the University of Texas at Austin where I received my BBA in Petroleum Land Management in 1983. Following undergraduate school I attended the University of Texas Law School, graduating in 1986. After law school I went on active duty with the United States Marine Corps where I served as a Judge Advocate General. It was in United States Marine Corps that I developed my love for the courtroom and my desire to be a trial lawyer.. After being honorably discharged from the Marines in 1990, I returned to Austin and began work at the firm of Ford & Ferraro (currently Fritz, Byrne, Head and Harrison). There, I represented insurance companies and their insureds in a variety of cases, primarily personal injuries. In 1996, I left the law firm and became a solo practitioner representing individuals (plaintiffs) against insurance companies and their insureds. I have been a plaintiffs’ attorney for the past 25 years.. During my now 25+ year practice as a plaintiff’s attorney, I have represented clients in matters involving injuries and death caused by car and truck accidents, medical malpractice, defective products, shoddy construction, boating accidents, dog bites and host of other causes. I have also successfully represented clients in employment disputes, contract disputes, deceptive trade practice cases and real estate disputes.. I was born and raised in Iowa, and graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1970. I was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1975. I have earned the following university degrees: Bachelor of General Studies (Science) in 1984 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha; Master of Public Administration in 1986 from the University of Nebraska; Master of Political Science in 1989 from the University of Houston; Doctor of Philosophy (Political Science) in 1990 from the University of Houston; and Juris Doctorate in 2002 from Texas Tech University. I was a freshman at Texas Tech University when I first saw injustice with my own eyes. I worked at the Lubbock County Detention Center and spent hours with detainees, building friendships, learning about their lives, their struggles, and how they ended up in the criminal system. From that point forward, I knew I wanted to spend my career fighting for people in the criminal legal system.. I’m a first-generation American and grew up in an immigrant household. My mom was raised in Colombia and my dad is from Greece. They had to start over after leaving their home countries, so they understand the value of education, helping others, and embracing diversity.. My parents encouraged me to prioritize education and instilled the importance of helping others in me. I am forever indebted to their sacrifices. That’s why after graduating with a degree in social work, I chose to work with incarcerated individuals, people in recovery, and foster children.. Every person I met had some involvement with the law and I knew I wanted to be on their side, helping them navigate the system. I continued my education at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. During my time in Norman, I spent my summers in Oklahoma, Houston, and Austin interning for brilliant and passionate criminal defense attorneys. I have a diverse practice, but lead our efforts on expunctions, administrative license revocations, and license eligibility. My favorite places are Greece and Colombia, where I get to spend time with my family and eat a lot of good food. I also love to read.
