I practice law to help people and organizations resolve their disputes over money, property, or legal rights. Sometimes, that just requires giving advice, writing a letter, or negotiating. When it requires more, I draw on almost 20 years of experience as a litigator in state and federal courts across Texas.
I practice family law, including litigation, Collaborative Family Law and Limited Scope Representation. I also mediates family law cases and Special Education cases as a contractor to the Texas Education Agency.
I love the practice of law and I very much enjoy practicing at Minton, Bassett, Flores and Carsey (MBFC). I have the privilege of practicing with fine attorneys, while working on serious, complex criminal and civil cases. My father, Roy, my brother, David, and my law partners Rip, John, Sam, Rick, Zooey and Jason - make up an incredible pool of talent to strategize with or build a trial team.. I also enjoy working with clients to give their criminal or family law issues a positive outcome. Most legal problems can be worked out between the parties, but there are some that cannot - and therefore must be tried to a judge or jury.. Our firm is ready to do what it takes in either circumstance.
I love Texas. Part of my childhood memories belong to the great NYC, but the majority of my life has been tied into the state of Texas. I have lived in Houston, Austin, Lubbock, El Paso, Dallas, San Antonio, back to Lubbock, back to El Paso and now Austin and El Paso. Each city has impacted my life in memorable ways.. My firm has put up with me for over 13 years :) . I say that only because they have have watched me travel through a majority of their offices due to my husband's military committment. Time really does fly by when you work at a firm that treats you like family. My background makes me unique in my field as I understand both the legal and accounting side of personal injury. Before I became an Attorney, I worked in a very large medical system dealing with accounting and finance. I understand numbers and the lingo which in turn helps my client understand their case and their case value. Some firms don't undertand how health insurance works or what balance billing means which in turn costs you more money down the road. Medical expenses have increased drastically. Health Insurance has gotten so complicated that most people do not understand how their health insurance works. Doctor's medical bills are complicated to understand. I am here to bridge together all those things and much much more.. I am an Attorney, a counselor, an advisor and a friend. At the end of the day I will be verys straight forward forward with you as I do with my family and my friends. I look forward to assisting you on your personal injury matter. Please call my office to schedule your free consultation or any questions you may have.. -Linh Thai
I love practicing personal injury law, and I am good at it. My focus is my ability to tell your story. This is what we're good at.. I teach other plaintiff lawyers in Texas how to present their clients' damages in the most effective way. I tend to look at cases visually and get to know each of my clients and their families in order to understand what the collision or the injury has done to their world. Often the contrast between pre-collision and post-collision is dramatic. If I can show that contrast, then the insurance companies realize that the case is quite real, and they realize that they now have an opportunity to help you. If they balk at that opportunity to help, then we give that opportunity to a jury.. The effectiveness of how we tell your story is what will make a jury empathize with what has happened to you; juries will help when they understand the harms you have suffered.. If you have been the victim of a drunk or reckless driver, if you have been hit by someone who was not looking out for your motorcycle, if you have been t-boned by someone not paying attention to the traffic light because a text was more important than your safety, I can and I will help you.
I like meeting and working with our creative inventor clients because I get to translate their creativity into formal language and make persuasive legal arguments to the Patent and Trademark Office. I always enjoy seeing those surprising relationships between things that might appear unrelated. I joined MWR Legal because I wanted to be a part of creating a new way to practice law. Impersonal law firms too often stifle growth and creativity. I enjoy practicing law in a way that fosters the personal and professional growth of both the attorneys and the clients. MWR Legal is not afraid to break the mold when it comes to serving its clients.
I help startups and small to medium sized businesses set themselves up for success. My clients get counsel on enacting best practices to avoid disputes and law suits, negotiating the best possible contracts -- even when dealing with a larger company or big corporate customer -- and navigating regulations and statutes to protect their assets and mission. In particular, I work with many small and family-owned construction subcontractors who enter large contracts with much larger general contractors and developers, and who often find themselves de-prioritized for payment.. When business relationships go south, I'm here to step in and help achieve a resolution that helps clients move upward and onward -- usually through negotiation, mediation, and a last resort, litigation. But my goal is to maintain long-term relationships with my clients, supporting them along the way to make sure disputes are unlikely to happen at all. The best court case is the one you never have to file!. I take my role as counselor very seriously - my job is to support you in executing on your plans. And my metric for success is simple: If you can sleep a little better at night, I've done my job. Whether you are looking to lay a solid foundation for your business, making moves to protect what you've built, or dealing with an ongoing dispute, feel free to reach out.

I have been practicing criminal defense exclusively since 2003. I love to help people who have found themselves on the wrong side of the law. I take pride in my results and in the progress I have seen so many clients make following their difficulties. My approach is holistic--I care not only about getting the best outcome possible for each and every client, but also about my clients as human beings. I have said many times, I do not want repeat business. I want my clients to go on and prosper after their case is concluded. Thankfully, most clients do just that. And they send their friends, family, and colleagues to me when they too find themselves in trouble. For this reason I can proudly say that my business has thrived purely by word of mouth for over a decade. I am grateful to be in a position to help individuals accused of crimes and plan to continue to do so for as long as I am able. In the words of John Wesley, "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can." I live by this and I endeavor to embody this ethos in my work.
