I have been happily married to Mary Stamper Lynam for 24 years and I am blessed with two great daughters, Kaeli and Natalie.  My interests and hobbies include golfing, coaching basketball, playing guitar, and other fun activities.  Two of my favorite authors are John Grisham and Carl Hiaasen.

I have been a litigator for more almost 20 years.  During that time, I have successfully handled a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including trials, arbitrations and mediations.  Although my passion for oral advocacy makes me relish opportunities to be in court, I recognize that it is often in my clients' best interest to find creative, business-driven solutions to litigation problems.

I have always been an active and zealous advocate. As a member of the Moot Court board, I competed in the Boston area in Moot Court competitions. I explore all avenues for resolving issues but is not afraid to draw the hard line when necessary.. I was raised in a small town in New York, and obtained my bachelor’s degree in economics, at Keene State College a part of the University of New Hampshire system. I graduated Cum Laude from Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island, and am a member of the Washington State Bar Association.

I focus on estate and trust litigation as well as guardianship and vulnerable adult issues.  I am particularly interested and passionate about elder issues.  I also offer a thoughtful approach to estate planning, much informed by my litigation practice.

I focus my practice on working with and representing general contractors, subcontractors, developers, design professionals, and suppliers in navigating the legal aspects of the construction industry, including resolving contract disputes, bid protests, CPARS disputes and appeals, lien and bond claims, L&I appeals, and contract drafting and review. I have also assisted minority and disadvantaged business enterprise (M/W/DBE) obtain certification in connection with state and federal small, minority, and women-owned business programs.. In addition to my legal practice, I am an avid runner, enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog, Dakota, and attempt downhill skiing. I focus my practice on the representation of property owners whether corporations, limited liability companies, individuals or homeowners associations.  I am chair of the Construction Practice Team, serve on the Williams Kastner board of directors and am chair of the Loss Prevention Committee.  My recent trial success includes representation of General Metals of Tacoma, Inc in a contract dispute with its general contractor, Bean Environmental, LLC, on an environmental dredging project to remediate the Hylebos Waterway in Tacoma, Washington.  Following a five week jury trial in the United States District Court in the Western District of Washington, the jury awarded my client $6.37 million for damages sustained as a result of the general contractor’s failure to perform its contract obligations.  The decision in General Metals of Tacoma, Inc. v. Bean Environmental, LLC was upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in November, 2008.. I was named to Super Lawyers from 2006 – 2008 by Washington Law & Politics magazine, and in 2003 was named one of Seattle’s Top Lawyers in construction law by Seattle Magazine.
