Patterson Weaver was born in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating high school, he attended Penn State University, where he majored in Political Science with minors in both Religious Studies as well as Economics. During this time period, Patterson's interests were in off-roading (and anything outdoors) as well as doing youth ministry with Young Life, an organization dedicated to Christian outreach to teenagers. After graduation, Patterson attended Duquesne University, where he studied for his Masters of Science in Secondary Education (M.S.Ed.) and was named a Dean's Teaching Fellow. Out of a love for the mountains and the outdoors, Patterson then moved to Colorado and taught High School Social Studies in Westcliffe, Colorado, for three years. The school’s chapter of the National Honors Society honored him as the Teacher of the Year in just his second year..
