I was raised in a small suburban town just north of Boston. My parents were two of the hardest working people I have ever met. My dad was a carpenter and my mom an office manager at a local bank. We were by no means well off. In fact, during the recession in the late 1980’s my dad was laid off and could not find work for some time. He took on low paying jobs, sometimes two, just to make sure we had food on the table and a roof over our heads until the economy got better. I learned at a young age the value of hard work and perseverance. This is something I have taken with me each and every day.. When I became a lawyer in 1998, I never forgot my roots. I had no desire to work for a large corporation or work at a large firm where I would be no more valuable than the number of hours I billed. I wanted to work with everyday people who I could relate to. I saw how hard my parents worked through the hard times and the stress it placed on them. I began my practice so that I could help everyday people with everyday problems. That is why I focus – and our law firm focuses – on criminal defense, Title IX and personal injury.. In my law practice, we work with good people who are not having their best day. Whether they have been injured in an accident; charged with a crime; or financially strapped and unable to pay their bills, they usually enter our office stressed out. My job, as I see it, is to take away as much of that stress as I can. I will not only fight hard for you, but also work hard to guide you through the process in an easy understandable way. Many of our clients have never had to work with a lawyer before and don’t know what to expect. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and treat you with the respect and courtesy that you deserve. Simply, I want you to leave our office feeling better than when you arrived.

My passion to help people less fortunate than myself initially led me to law school. Upon graduating from Penn, I went to work for the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, New York in the Criminal Defense Division. I worked there for a number of years, until my husband's job required us to move. I continued to work as a public defender for many years, in many states, and helped an innumerable number of clients with their criminal and family law cases. Ultimately, when i had my second child, I left public interest law, and went into private practice. I have been in private practice since 2002, and i continue to take on pro bono cases so that i can help those less fortunate.. When i am not practicing law, you can find me volunteering in my children's elementary, middle and high school, on the tennis court, or out running the streets of Newton and Boston.
