Leonard is an immensely experienced and dedicated litigator. Originally from Hawaii, he moved to Colorado in 1985 to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, where he received his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science in 1991. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 1997. He is licensed to practice before all Colorado Courts, the United States District Court, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Leonard is a very experienced courtroom litigator, giving him invaluable insights and ability to assist his clients in navigating to fair resolutions, avoiding litigated outcomes where possible. However, when matters must be tried, he possesses the command of the law, and courtroom skills, necessary to protect your interests. Leonard has litigated at all levels of Colorado state courts, including the Colorado Court of Appeals, Colorado Supreme Court, as well as matters before the federal courts. Leonard has even been engaged to litigate complex family law matters in jurisdictions outside the Colorado where matters required sophisticated grasp of family dynamics and law. In addition, Leonard has been certified as an expert concerning aspects of Family Law litigation related reasonbleness of fees and costs.. He is member of the Colorado Bar Association, Arapahoe County Bar Association, Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee, American Association of Conciliation Courts and sits on the executive council of the Minoru Yasui American Inn of Court. Outside of his career in the law, Leonard enjoys spending time with his family and service to the community. His "other life" is spent in the serious practice and study of traditional karate, where he holds a 7th degree black belt with the prestigious Japan Karate Association. Sharon received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University in 2010. She earned her Juris Doctor, with honors in 2017 from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2017.. While in law school, Sharon gained experience working with a Wyoming law firm that assisted individuals, families and businesses in legal matters including but not limited to: estate planning, business planning, property disputes, oil and gas law, family law and civil litigation. Sharon gained additional estate planning experience through her participation in the Estate Planning Practicum at the University where she prepared wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives and completed simple probates for low income individuals and families.. After law school, Sharon worked as a Trust Specialist for First Interstate Wealth Management in Wyoming. Luis Monroy is a Colorado native and has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and minored in history at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  While in undergraduate school, he volunteered with the Student Worker Alliance Program where he taught English and life skills to migrant workers who were employed through the University.. Upon being accepted to law school, Luis received the Robert B. Yegge Memorial Scholarship.  After his first year, he interned with the Douglas County Office of the Public Defender where he worked on a high-profile death penalty case.  He later participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic where he worked as a student attorney on five municipal cases in various jurisdictions around the Denver metro area.  Luis concluded his law school career by interning with a private firm focusing his attention on criminal defense, family law, and the emerging regulations concerning Amendment 64.  Luis was also the co-president of one of the largest law student organizations on campus during his third year of law school.. After graduating in 2013, Luis interned with the Colorado Juvenile Defender Coalition where he was able to participate in a legislative interim committee concerning reform in juvenile defense.   In addition to policy work, Luis also implemented community outreach strategies in the Denver metro area for juvenile justice in Colorado..
