Kaitlin T. Boettcher was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2014, she earned her Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in Social Work and a Certificate in Leadership Studies at The University of Iowa. In 2017, Kaitlin was awarded her Juris Doctor degree from The University of Iowa College of Law..
