I am a former Pima County Public Defender who has represented clients charged with some of the most serious offenses, I am thrilled to practice family law and to have the privilege of assisting and guiding my clients through a difficult time in their lives. I am compassionate, empathetic, and an experienced and tenacious negotiator. In 2017, I was awarded the “Rising Star” award from the Arizona Public Defender Association and in 2019 I was named as one of Tucson’s 40 Under 40.  I am the Immediate Past President of the Women’s Law Association - Southern Arizona Chapter, and a Board Member for the YWCA of Southern Arizona. I graduated from the University of Arizona with my law degree in 2011, have studied abroad in Israel and the Netherlands, and have worked in the field of human rights in Jerusalem, the Hague, San Francisco, and Tucson.  While my background and training is serious, I love comedy and perform improv comedy with several teams at Tucson Improv Movement.  When I'm not on stage, I spend time with my three rescue dogs. I am learning to cook and love reading and traveling.

In 2008, I graduated magna cum laude and order of the curia from Capital University Law School, in Columbus, Ohio.. Along with receiving my law degree, I received a certification in Children and Family Law. During law school, I received the Cali Book Award for Academic Excellence in Secured Transactions and worked as a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistance for first year law students.  I also volunteered at the National Center for Adoption Law and Policy and worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Peggy Walker in Douglasville, Georgia. While in Georgia, I assisted Judge Walker in creating a nationally presented project called Putting the Pieces Together: Promoting Resiliency in Children from Birth to Three. This presentation educated professionals on the best practices and procedures to meet the unique needs of the youngest children in foster care, by promoting safety, permanency and resiliency.. I completed an intensive interdisciplinary collaborative practice training sponsored by the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois in November of 2009.  I have also taken several Level II Collaborative trainings.   As a Collaborative Professional, I am trained to assist parties in settling family conflicts without going to Court.
