Michelle holds a B.S. from the University of Houston-Downtown and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law. I graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2001, and I was admitted to practice law in Oklahoma in 2001. After clerking and interning for a trial attorney in the areas of civil litigation, family law, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, guardianship, probate, and general practice I opened his own solo practice in 2001.. I moved my practice to the Tarrant County area in 2007, and absolutely love the area.  I primarily handle family law cases, but I also have experience in personal injury cases.. I have been married for ten years, and I have three wonderful children with whom I am very active.

I am originally from Katy, Texas, and grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a minor in Business Administration after receiving the Arizona Excellence Scholarship Award. From there, I attended Mississippi College School of Law, where I graduated Cum Laude, received the Justice Jess H. Dickinson Professionalism Award, and was inducted into the Order of Barristers for my oral advocacy and briefing skills. I am a member of the Texas State Bar and the Tarrant County Bar Association.. During Law School, I  spent two years at the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office working as a law clerk, and I also clerked for the 15th District Chancery Judge of Brookhaven, Mississippi. In addition to that, I served as a Research Representative for LexisNexis throughout my law school career. Today, my practice primarily focuses on family law. I am constantly striving for excellence and I am fully dedicated to acting on behalf of the best interests of my clients. I am a native Texan providing affordable family and business legal services to the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and its surrounding counties.. I earned my Juris Doctor degree in 2010 at the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, which is now known as the Texas A&M University School of Law. Prior to practicing law, I taught classes in writing and literature at Texas Woman’s University, where I completed the coursework necessary for a doctoral degree in Rhetoric. After I left the TWU, I worked for years as a board-certified medical and scientific editor.. This pre-law education and experience have made me particularly good at drafting documents that are unambiguous and conflict-free. As an editor of highly technical texts, where meanings change with the placement of a comma, I developed a highly honed eye for detail. In addition, I am able to quickly and thoroughly read documents that other attorneys have drafted. I often find mistakes or unintended meanings that other readers have missed.. Many people who have little to no experience with the legal system find the idea of appearing before a judge or jury scaring and threatening. Although I often try to come to agreements outside of a court ruling, I am comfortable in a court environment. My education in Rhetoric, as well as my teaching, has made me adept at constructing messages to fit their particular purpose and reach their intended audience. This makes me a “natural” in the courtroom, where I am called upon to sway a judge’s opinion to get the desired result for my client.. Kristin Kaye is a Senior Attorney with Blanchard & Thomas, LLP. She has over ten years of experience litigating primarily Family Law and CPS matters. Throughout her legal career, she has tried over fifty jury trials, ranging from simple traffic violations to complex capital murder cases. She continually proves herself more than capable of handling every aspect of a case from consult, to negotiation, to jury argument.. She later represented the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (also known as CPS) before ultimately becoming a felony level prosecutor assigned to the Crimes Against Children Division. Through those experiences, Kristin became particularly adept at both storytelling and public speaking. She often moved jurors to tears in her closing arguments due to her ability to convey her passion for protecting children and the jury’s ability to make positive change through their verdict. She also developed a knack for speaking with children on their level and helping them express their hardships in a public forum. She has perfected the art of being welcoming and gentle with children while remaining direct and calculated with adult witnesses, attorneys, and Judges.. Kristin holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University School of Law (2011) where she was a member of the Mock Trial Team and National Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team. Her team made it to the national level competition in Boston, Massachusetts. Additionally, Kristin participated in the St. Mary's University School of Law Clinic where she helped represent low income clients in family cases and other civil law matters. Kristin earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2006.. Kristin is a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. She is currently a member of the McLennan County Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section. In her free time, Kristin enjoys yoga, journaling, horror movies, gardening, listening to true-crime podcasts, and spending time with her two young children. If asked, her family would say her specialty in the kitchen is fried chicken wings, and enchiladas with a tomatillo-based sauce.
