Andrea Erwin Potter was born in New Orleans and spent most of her early childhood in Metairie, Louisiana.  At the age of 10 she moved about 60 miles west of New Orleans to a small town on the bayou, Thibodaux.  She graduated from Thibodaux High in 1998.  Missing the vibe of the city, she returned to New Orleans and received her B.A. in Public Relations from Tulane University in 2006, the first semester after Hurricane Katrina. Then she went on to receive her J.D. degree from Loyola University College of Law, graduating with a 3.369.. While attending Loyola, Mrs. Potter served on the Journal of Public Interest, Loyola’s Trial Advocacy Organization and represented clients under Professor Cheryl Buchert in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice.  She was selected as a teaching assistant by Dr. JoAnne Sweeny for Legal Research and Writing.  She was honored by the American Bar Association as a third-place winner of the Schwab Memorial Essay hosted by the Family Law Section.  Her article, Sexting and Louisiana’s Punishment for the Children the Law Intends to Protect from Prosecution Under Child Pornography Statutes, was published in the American Bar Association Family Law Quarterly, Vol. 45, No. 3.  Moreover, her article, Juvenile Justice, was also published in the American Bar Association Student Lawyer Magazine in February of 2013.  She was awarded the Best Direct Examination by the Trial Advocacy Board of 2011.. Andrea’s emphasis in her law practice stems from her own childhood as a product of divorce.  As she grew up her curiosity was piqued as to why she could not live with her father all the time.  So, while attending law school she decided her focus would be family law and child advocacy.  In 2010, Andrea worked for the Honorable Mary Devereux at the 22nd Judicial District Court where she learned divorce methods, community property settlements, co-parenting guidelines including visitation, custody and support, and prenuptial agreements.  In 2011, Andrea clerked for the Honorable Nancy Amato Konrad at Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court where she learned the importance of rehabilitation of minors in order to provide them with a chance to become productive members of society.  Furthermore, she gained advocacy experience in juvenile criminal defense.  Upon entering the legal industry Mrs. Potter joined a New Orleans Firm, Venezia & Associates in 2013.  Then she and her husband decided to move to Mandeville, and she opened a family law practice.

David joined Scott, Vicknair, Hair & Checki as an associate in the firm’s litigation section in 2017. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2009, and then attended Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2012.. His practice is primarily focused on family law, personal injury, commercial litigation and other various tort claims. Prior to joining the firm, David gained experience working for a local firm that specialized in family law, as well as an established plaintiff oriented firm where he was able to assist clients in New York who suffered significant loss due to Hurricane Sandy.. David is also an active member of the Jefferson Parish Bar Association.

Attorney Daniel C. Cummins is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. He graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2008. While attending Mississippi College, Daniel was elected by his peers to serve as the student body president. He also received the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Advocacy and Negotiations. After law school, Daniel served in the U.S. Army JAG Corps for eight years. He was initially assigned to the First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas were he was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Daniel was subsequently stationed in Hawaii as a trial advocate, gaining valuable courtroom experience through the prosecution of federal crimes. Daniel’s last assignment was as a Battalion Judge Advocate for a forward deployed Special Forces Battalion in Okinawa, Japan. Daniel is continuing his service, focusing his efforts primarily in family law. He has both the education and experience that you need when faced with these difficult issues. Daniel resides in Monroe, Louisiana with his wife and two daughters.
