Kelly LeBlanc has been practicing law for over 35 years. She has been admitted to practice in five (5) jurisdictions and appeared on behalf of litigants at the state and federal level. She served as an Administrative Health Law Judge with the Department of Health and worked as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in Pierce County many years before joining Envision Family Law Group as Senior Counsel. When the Court was faced with particularly difficult cases, Kelly was often designated to investigate and provide recommendations on how best to protect the interests of the child(ren) involved.. As a GAL, Kelly served as the court’s designated expert in hundreds of cases relating to child custody. She was routinely subject to cross-examination in contested family law proceedings and experienced trial tactics by dozens of her colleagues both as a witness and advocate. While serving as a Health Law Judge for the Department of Health, Kelly presided over licensing and disciplinary proceedings involving medical doctors, dentists, therapists and other health care providers facing charges under the Uniform Disciplinary Act. In this role, Kelly was charged with the responsibility for making evidentiary rulings and ensuring fairness and integrity in conduct of proceedings.. Kelly has not only experienced what it feels like from the witness box, she has also experienced the challenges facing the fact finders in judicial proceedings. Thus, Kelly understands the importance of preparing cases in a way that will afford her the ability to defend her work and recommendations down to the smallest detail and her experience as GAL provides her with a unique vantage point, or “head start”, from which to prepare her own clients.. When Kelly is in the courtroom, she dominates with her smart, direct and thorough legal arguments while maintaining the utmost professionalism. Kelly tempers her natural perfectionism with efficiency, yet takes the time to ensure that her clients are well-informed throughout each aspect of the case. Her skill and work ethic is widely respected within the legal community. While serving as a neutral investigator, Kelly established herself as someone who could be trusted and along with that, developed good rapport with the Judges, Commissioners, and supporting staff. Kelly has a wide range of experience which helps her formulate arguments, theories, and themes that resonate with the Court. Kelly has a deep understanding of the issues confronting families during divorce and custody cases and can provide seasoned advice on how to address concerns with domestic violence, chemical dependency, or complex medical or mental health issues. She has in-depth knowledge of programs and resources available through DSHS, JBLM Family Advocacy and a well-developed network of private resources who provide support and assistance for families and children facing difficult times.. Kelly and her husband came to Washington in 1995. They have had the joy (“most of the time,” says Kelly) of raising six children but are now "empty nesters" and grandparents! Three of her children still reside here in Washington so that made the transition from "full house" to a "much roomier (and generally cleaner) one" a little easier. Kelly and her husband both enjoy cooking though she admits: “I like cooking even more when he does it.” During her leisure time, she loves hosting family and friends at social gatherings or taking off to go camping. She also enjoys running, hiking, bicycling, hanging out with friends, and simply relaxing with a good book when she’s not working.. Don't forget to ask about Kelly's special reduced rates for active duty military members!

Originally from the Midwest, I came south to escape the cold and to pursue my life's path of helping others. Helping those around me recognize, claim, and use their voice - that is what I have spent my adult life doing - first as a counselor, and now as an attorney.. For years, I saw how the law seemed out of reach and completely foreign to many in our communities. I am here to make the law approachable, useful, and to ensure my client's voice is always heard.. Her approach to each client is highly personalized, allowing for strategy in each aspect of the case. She does not hesitate to tell her clients what they may not want to hear, when a position is untenable, or a result, unrealistic. While she effectively fights to protect and advance her clients’ goals, Catherine is committed to achieving the most favorable results with the least amount of conflict necessary.. On a personal note, Catherine no longer has a "bucket list." Having had the opportunity to take time off for three years, Catherine lived/worked on a farm with 32 barnyard animals (and a lot of mud), studied and performed stand-up comedy with some success (very modest), did a few wild things for which she needs divine forgiveness (no lasting regrets), and wrote her mid-life memoirs (likely forever, unpublished). And then she realized ... she needed to keep her day-job.. Luckily, she is pretty good at her day job.

As a child, I attended grade school and middle school in Yamhill, Oregon, and graduated from Yamhill-Carlton High School in 2004. I started my family a few years after graduating and later commuted from McMinnville to Portland State University where I majored in Communications and took great interest in learning Russian. When I found out I had received a substantial scholarship to attend Willamette University, College of Law I was over the moon. While at Willamette, I focused on dispute resolution and I received a certificate upon graduation for my efforts. Additionally, in my final year, the Willamette Moot Court Board granted me the award of “Best Trialist”.. You might have seen me around the community; I put myself through college as a waitress working at many local restaurants. I have coached many youth soccer and basketball teams with McMinnville Parks & Rec. and I have volunteered my time at the Salvation Army food bank. I love keeping busy almost as much as I love my community.. Having spent almost a decade as a single mom of two children, I understand from a very personal level the stresses that can go with that experience. The struggle to financially support your family, the struggle to keep your children in safe situations and the fear that despite your best efforts, it won’t be enough. This is why I decided to focus my practice on family law. I understand that each family is unique and can take many different forms and I understand that every relationship looks different from one to the next. I remember how hard divorces and custody battles are to experience and I look forward to using those very personal experiences to guide others through the maze that can be our legal system.
