Biographical Information:. A native of Chicago, Illinois Matthews attended schools in the Chicago Public School system from Kindergarten through her graduation from Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center where she received her High School Diploma.. Attorney Matthews began her collegiate studies at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina in the Fall of 1997. During her college career, she remained at the top of her college class (President’s List almost every semester) and was inducted into the Alpha Lamdba Delta Honors Society as a Freshman. Matthews completed her college studies in 3 ½ years (a semester ahead of schedule) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, with a minor in Social Work.. In addition to maintaining high academic credentials, Matthews was very active in many collegiate organizations including her campus’ chapter of the NAACP, Minority Assistance Peer Program mentoring organization and the Black Student Alliance to name a few. She also worked part-time at the Law Offices of Eddye L. Lane, a firm specializing in a variety of practice areas. For nine months following her college education, Regina continued her studies by working full-time as a Legal Assistant and Researcher with the Masella Law Firm in Columbia, South Carolina.. Having received scholarship offers from law schools across the country, she was accepted admission into Emory University School of Law in the Fall of 2001. While in law school, Matthews volunteered with the Emory Law Clinic, served as Community Service Chairperson for the Black Law Students Association, served as a Residence Hall Director for dormitories at the University and Interned with the Chicago Legal Clinic and the Dekalb County Public Defender’s Office. She received several scholarships and grants during her law studies including the Emory Public Interest Committee’s Public Interest Law Institute Grant and a scholarship from the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.. Immediately after law school, Matthews was offered a full-time position as an attorney with the Dekalb County Office of the Public Defender where she received invaluable training and experience as a trial attorney. During her first year-and-a-half, she won twelve of her first fifteen trials in State Court. Attorney Matthews resigned from the Public Defender’s Office in April of 2009 and has been in private practice since.  Her track record still remains top-notch as she has remarkably gotten dismissals in over half of her criminal cases over the past several years. Attorney Matthews specializes in criminal cases and contested and uncontested divorces and other family law matters.  With a proven track record of professionalism, intergity and skill, Attorney Matthews will work very hard to get the absolute best result for her clients.. I began my career working at my father's law office primarily handling domestic and/or family law cases. All I had ever wanted to do was to go to trial and litigate, but I realized handling Family Law Matters would result in few trials and even fewer jury trials.  To broaden my chances of getting more trial work, I decided to join Gwinnett County's Appointed Lawyer list.  At first, I was a little disappointed on the types of cases the magistrate judges were appointing me, so I decided I needed to introduce myself around to other judges in other courts.  I went and introduced myself to the judges with Gwinnett County's Recorder's Court, and as a result, begin getting appointed DUI cases left and right.  From the start I was hooked.  I was so surprised and enthralled at how complicated and vast DUI litigation was, I knew I needed to learn from the best if I was/am to become the best, so I went to every DUI seminar available, received training in administering standardized field sobriety tests and DUI detection, and attended various trial seminars/colleges.  As a result I have focused my entire legal practice towards DUI Defense and/or other DUI related cases, and 2011 has been a very successful year.  Everyday I am excited to go to work knowing I get to help those who are virtually helpless and the various challenges and the excitement I experience handling those challenges.  I am truly blessed to have found a career and type of law I truly love practicing.

Sana is a family law attorney at Marple Rubin Family Law, LLC.  As a child of immigrants from Southeast Asia, Sana has a unique perspective on the importance of familial relationships. She guides Georgians through divorce, child custody disputes, child support, and adoption. Sana is honored to expand access to justice to those who speak Hindi, Urdu, or Gujarati.. Sana graduated magna cum laude from Emory University, College of Arts and Sciences with dual degrees in Political Science and Philosophy and earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law.  In law school, Sana worked for the DeKalb County Child Advocates Office, the Barton Juvenile Defender Clinic, and the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office and was greatly involved with the Family and Child Law Society and the South Asian Law Students Association..
