Grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, in a family of four children.  Traveled for several years before achieving a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a Bachelor's Decree in Political Science at Boise State University.  In law school, headed moot court program and managed symposium edition of the Idaho Law Review.  Extremely dedicated to work and the people I work with.. After working in a large firm environment engaged in business and contract work, settled into a small, family-run and family-oriented firm at Gulstrom, Henson & Petrie, PC.  After witnessing the anxiety and lack of communication many individuals--including personal family and friends-- had with other attorneys in their family law cases, became committed to giving each client a high level of individual attention and education about choices in his or her case.. Outside of work, I enjoy river rafting, the outdoors, gardening and cooking for family and friends.

Heath Wells grew up in Bonners Ferry, Idaho where his family has been living for generations. In his youth, he learned to appreciate two very important things in his life: hard work and outdoor recreation. After completing a degree in Agriculture and a short career working as an agronomist, he decided that his future was headed in a different direction. He then applied for and accepted an offer from Gonzaga University School of Law.. Heath is married to his lovely wife Jennifer, a local chiropractor and together they own a small horse ranch in Post Falls. In his free time Heath loves traveling with his wife and seeing new places, especially national and state parks around the country. He is also an avid sportsman and can often be found far back in the mountains chasing elk.. As a born and raised “Idahoan”, Heath believes that the northwest is genuinely an amazing place to live and will work tirelessly to help the people that live here have the life that they deserve. I am excited to work in Buffalo, Minnesota - the town where I attended high school.  After high school I attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for my undergraduate degree and completed law school at the University of North Dakota.  Following law school, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to clerk for the North Dakota Supreme Court in Bismarck, North Dakota.. After my clerkship, things came full circle and I was eager to get started with the law firm of Carlson & Jones.  Since joining Carlson & Jones in 2010, my practice has largely focused on family law, including divorce, child custody, adoption, child support and paternity.. I work hard to meet the needs of my clients and to help families through some of their most difficult times.

I have had the opportunity to serve as a judge's law clerk at both the District and Appellate levels.  This has provided me with valuable insight regarding a judge's decision making process.

Kaitlyn J. Andren is a partner at Terzich & Ort, LLP, who devotes her practice exclusively to family law. The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled in favor of appellant, which was a huge victory for making sure financially abusive spouses are prevented from forcing their victims to agree to extremely inequitable divisions of property while leaving them no recourse to challenge those divisions.. Kaitlyn also helped a client successfully appeal an Order for Protection matter in 2018. In re the Matter of Hansen v. Richter, A17-1063 (Minn. Ct. App. 2018) (nonprecedential opinion).. Kaitlyn is nationally ranked in the Top 10 Under 40 for excellence in the field of family law by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.. My practice is focused on helping my clients through the difficult and emotionally charged matters that encompass family law.  I strive to provide my clients with many services and many different choices for resolving their cases.  While I am an experienced trial attorney, I also have the ability to settle cases without going to court.  I am trained in collaborative law and I am a mediator.  I welcome the opportunity to speak with clients and determine what process will work the best for their particular situation.

I am committed to helping individuals reach reasonable compromises with their parenting and property issues and guiding them through safe, sane divorces.  My motto is "Children are not a prize to be won."  I believe children need both parents in their life and I work to maximize time with each parent.  I also enjoy working with older women whose husband's are trying to "turn them out to pasture".. On a personal level, I enjoy both my adult children and their families.  I am a devoted Grandmother.

Shannon Ort is a founding partner of Terzich and Ort. LLP.  She devotes her practice exclusively to family law focusing on divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, paternity matters and orders for protection. Shannon is a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations and the American Bar Association. She is also admitted in Federal Court, a member of the family law section, and a Rule 114 family law neutral.. Scott M. Rodman is a shareholder with Arnold & Rodman PA. Mr. Rodman’s practice focuses exclusively on family law, including but not limited to divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, interstate and international divorce and child custody, Hague Convention and non-Hague parental child abduction, parental child abduction prevention, third-party custody and visitation,antenuptial (pre-nuptial) agreements, adoption and appeals.. Mr. Cain focuses exclusively on family law, primarily on cases involving complex custody matters. Mr. Cain also has extensive experience guiding clients through cases involving paternity, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, and property division, including property divisions in high-income divorces with complicated valuation issues.. Mr. Cain aims to assist clients in reaching fair and equitable agreements while keeping legal expenses at a minimum. If an agreement cannot be achieved, Mr. Cain ensures that his clients are zealously advocated for in the courtroom.. Mr. Cain has worked for the firm since 2008 before receiving his Juris Doctor from Mitchell | Hamline School of Law in 2018. He joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in October 2018. While attending law school, Mr. Cain served as a certified student attorney with the firm, representing pro bono clients in divorce and child custody cases.. Mr. Cain lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota with his fiancée, their son, and three dogs.

I tend to be actively involved in my community and local politics.  Beyond that, you'll typically find me on some body of water in Minnesota, frozen or open, catching fish, boating with family, relaxing in the sun.
