I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and graduated from Calvin College in 1996. I received my law degree from Wayne State University Law School in 1999. I am a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the National Committee on Planned Giving, and the West Michigan Estate Planning Council. I am certified in the areas of probate and estate planning (Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan). I have a heart for those less fortunate which has led me to become a very active participant in the Legal Aid Program of Western Michigan where I am appointed as a pro bono attorney in cases. I am the chair of the finance committee at my church, possibly for life, and my wife and I are actively involved in the leadership at our church.. I have four children and love family events. I can be spotted riding my bike to work and running during lunch. I have run the Fifth Third Riverbank race (with a current streak of over 10 plus years under 2 hours), as well as a number of other community races.

I am a graduate of Albion College and Ave Maria School of Law, and a member of the State Bar of Michigan. I am dedicated to assisting my clients as they face the challenges of making difficult decisions in estate planning and caring for their elderly relatives and friends. I am committed to using my knowledge to represent those who are most vulnerable and in need of assistance.. I currently serve as a Washtenaw County Public Administrator.. Carmencita Fulgado-Taylor was born and raised in Queens, New York.  She graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.  She also has her M.A. and B.A. in English and is a cum laude graduate of St. John’s University. She is admitted to the state bars of New York and Michigan.. Before moving to Michigan in April 2013, she was the Staff Attorney at Brooklyn Housing and Family Services in New York, a non-profit organization committed to protecting families and preventing homelessness.. Carmencita enjoys running and has ran the New York City Marathon three times.  She is married to Neil Taylor and they live in Holt, Michigan.  They are excited for the arrival of their first child in December 2015.
