I started my law firm to put my prior experience to work for individuals, as well as small to mid-sized companies in the Charlotte and Cabarrus County area. I knew that my clients would benefit from a more flexible and personal style of legal representation, as well as the option for flat fee legal services rather than always having to pay by the hour.. Before founding The Canipe Law Firm, PLLC, I was a partner at a large multi-state law firm where I helped lead their Business & Contract Law team. I also handled cases in NC and SC and provided estate planning services. I had also worked for a the legal department of a large bank and for a large business litigation law firm.. I wanted a different kind of firm with a relationship where my clients and I could know each other better and I could offer them legal advice more customized to their situations. I wanted my law practice to be drive by the needs of my clients and how I can help them.. I grew up in Catawba County, North Carolina and live in Charlotte with my wife and their two children. Outside of work, I focus on his family and is an active member at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. For several years, I worked with my wife teaching children’s Sunday School and the church’s annual Vacation Bible School. I also help teach our adult Sunday School class and serve the members of the church as a deacon. I enjoy studying the Bible and discussing how to apply the Bible to everyday life, as I try to live out my faith.. I retain an avid interest in American history from my college days. You can usually be sure that I am reading a few history books and working on a history research project. I also greatly enjoy running, participating in local mud runs and playing pickup basketball with friends as part of my regular fitness routine.

My wife and I are originally from Texas. She is a Registered Nurse who works in oncology. We love the outdoors and all that the Lake Tahoe area has to offer. Specifically, we love to go skiing/snowboarding during the winter and to the beach or on a boat in the summer. We also love hiking down to the lake with a picnic. We both love food, whether it is cooking at home or dining at some of the great restaurants in our area. We travel a fair amount and plan most of our trips around the meals we intend to eat.. My early years were spent on a 200 acre ranch, 13 miles from the nearest gas station, outside of Caldwell, Texas. At the age of 8, my family moved to Leander, Texas, which is located northwest of Austin. I love Austin with all of my heart and try to get back there as often as I can, particularly during the fall so I can go to Texas Longhorn football games with my dad. HOOK 'EM! After college, my wife and I moved to Incline Village for "one winter." As with most who move here for "one winter," we stayed longer and truly fell in love with Lake Tahoe. We were very fortunate to be able to return to school to further our education and move back here full time.
Many times individuals who seek legal help also need accounting and tax assistance, and vice versa. The sad thing is individuals are usually required to seek assistance from professionals in at least two different disciplines - legal and accounting/tax. The problems with that are legal and accounting professionals think differently and have different goals even though both profess to have the client's interest in mind. The reason is many times each professional cannot appreciate the importance the other has to contribute.. The solution is to have a professional that actively practices both legal and accounting/tax disciplines. That way you have a professional that looks at issues from multiple view points.. Since I am an attorney and a CPA actively practicing law and accounting/tax, I think in all disciplines simultaneously and as such there is no loss in translation when creating and implementing a strategy. Whether that strategy is creating an estate plan, a complex business structure, or reporting the transaction to proper authorities, legal and accounting/tax disciplines are combined in one place for your benefit.

We aggressively represent victims of car, boat and truck accidents, as well as victims of defective products and defective premises whether the premise defect is a swimming pool with a broken gate latch that a toddler wanders into or a hazardous walking surface that causes a fall. We have represented people with profound brain injuries and have successfully sued for wrongful death in many cases.. For uncontested probate cases we are the high quality, low cost probate lawyers in all counties of Nevada. There are economies of scale in probate cases that we can pass on to our clients. In an uncontested probate case the amount of money in the estate is a fixed amount; being creative and aggressive can't add money to a dead person's bank account. However, for personal injury cases we do not attempt to compete against other lawyers on the basis of cost except for favorable police report accidents. For these favorable police report accident we charge a low 25% contingency fee which is a no-gimmick low contingency fee in contrast to almost all of our low cost competitors whose small print says the contingency fee will go up to 40% or more if suit has to be filed.. However, for other personal injury cases where both liability and damages are at issue we charge the more common 33.33% to 40% contingency fee.. Finally, we offer a discount on uncontested California probates (all counties) if the estate is worth $400,000 or more.
