Location: Oregon Partner and I got into a heated argument that led to him putting hands on me. Not looking for advice on leaving I’m aware of the severity of his actions. I’d like to leave without having the courts ruin his life. I called the police and made the report.. he was arrested despite the police being hesitant due to it being more he said she said. I didn’t have any marks on me. One child in a different room said they heard the conflict but didn’t see anything. He was booked and heals under assault 4 felony and harassment felony. Me and my kids were subpoenaed to court to see a grand jury and before it started I pulled the prosecutor of the jury aside and told him I was not assaulted and called out of fear because I believed it wasn’t a matter of if he was gonna hurt me but when. I said I truly believed I was doing what I needed to do to keep myself safe. I said I realize I’m incriminating myself by saying this… he waived his hand like that wasn’t anything I need to worry about…He then proceeded to dismiss me and my kids and canceled the jury. What could possibly happen next? Could they determine there’s no longer enough evidence to proceed? Is the prosecutor possibly needing to talk to the da to see how to proceed? I know nobody can truly answer and we can only speculate… but I’d love some speculation at this point because this whole situation has really added a lot of uncertainty and stress. I’d like for things to go back to normal. No, I don’t intend on getting back with him.
