Juvenile traffic ticket advice

A month ago I got pulled over for running a stop sign. It was not a four way stop sign it was a stop a 2 ways and clearly there was not a single person on the street because it was empty so I slowed down to 11mph(obviously stupid of me) and of course the cop was hiding and had nothing to do because I was in a small gated community and pulled me over. It was my first time getting pulled over and I got ticketed but I was with my underage friends in the car, I am 17 years old and since I got my license in march and I’m in California I need to wait a year before I’m allowed to drive others. I only got a ticket for the stop sign and the police did not say anything about my friends. My court date is October 15th I’m wondering what are the possible steps I can take here because I know that since im underage I can’t pay online but I was wondering if going to the court on that day is the only possible day to address the ticket. My main worry is that I’m way guilty so there would be no contesting in court and I’m afraid that I could get my license suspended for driving my underage friends around. I was also not in my car I was in my mothers car and it was her insurance, I am not listed on her insurance or any at all currently. What should I do in regards to the ticket? Location: Monterey bay
