Need help!! Landlord/tenant

Hello! Location: Texas I’m having issues with my apartment complex not fixing my inadequate AC unit. I am in Texas, so it is very HOT here. My thermostat says 75-80 throughout the day, when I have it set at 68-70 at times. We got maintenance to give us a window unit, but the property managers will not have the AC unit fixed! It does not effectively or efficiently cool my apartment. Additionally, they said they would order a part (after not even inspecting it), and then apparently they said they aren’t doing that anymore!! Today, they notified me that they were in my apartment and cleaned the external coils as well as adding Freon coolant (but the AC unit did not look wet or tampered with). The upstairs in my place reaches 95-100°F. But the managers say only the thermostat numbers matter… they haven’t even attempted to internally fix it because they just say that it works fine. They said we should purchase a window unit ourselves. I don’t think this is right considering they can’t provide comfortable conditions. I also have screenshots and I record evidence of temperatures and things they say. Can I do anything to legally break the lease?
