Dog bite me on route (Amazon)

I was bit by a loose dog today in Illinois while delivering a package on my assigned route. I spent the evening at urgent care getting treated for a deep puncture and claw lacerations, and I received a tetanus shot and antibiotics. My employer's dispatch is filing a Workers' Comp claim for the urgent care visit. I understand Illinois is a strict liability state for animal attacks (510 ILCS 5/16) and that I have the right to pursue a third-party claim against the homeowner's liability insurance. I plan to consult with a local personal injury attorney tomorrow morning. Location: fox river grove
