Potential ADA case or just incompetent HR?

Ohio Jul 23, 2026
Location: Ohio I work for a large national employer in Ohio and have documented disabilities. I returned from disability leave in April and immediately started the ADA accommodation process. My doctor submitted the requested paperwork. Months later, my accommodation case was closed because they claimed they never received my doctor’s updated documentation. I filed a complaint because I had proof it was submitted. After my complaint, they reopened my case. When I asked why, I was given a different explanation: the paperwork “wasn’t received in a timely manner.” The problem is, nobody ever told me there was a deadline or that my case would be closed if they didn’t receive something by a certain date. They only brought that up after I complained. This whole process has taken months, involved multiple conflicting explanations, and has honestly become incredibly stressful. I’m actually back out on disability leave, in part because of everything that’s been going on at work. I’ve reached out to employment attorneys but haven’t received an opinion yet. Does this sound like something an employment attorney would actually be interested in, or is this more likely just really poor handling of an ADA accommodation request?
