Immigration Advice for Green Card Holding Father

immigration attorney California Aug 28, 2026
Location: Orange County, California ,USA Hi all, My Green card holder father was detained by local authorities in California at the airport before he was gonna board an international flight last week. He was sent to Orange County where he was held due to an old warrant recently reopned from 1980 for an assault charge. He was bailed out the next morning and had a court date set for later in the fall. Upon his release they gave him back his non-USA passport and Driver's License but NOT his Green Card. He is set to return for court in California but resides in another state. This feels like an ICE trap, or am I missing something here? TIA and I welcome any helpful insight
