Dealership did work on my car without contacting me

Earlier this week, I brought my car in to the Kia dealership to have diagnosed (two general mechanics said the engine would need to be replaced), they said it was dead basically. I had an agreement with the service department to keep it there until today where I could set up a tow truck to tow it back to my place. Without my permission, a family friend went to the dealership and paid for a service to be done. The dealership did not contact me for my permission for it to be done. The family friend was given my car key and drove it to their place. (I have the car back in my possession, I went up there and grabbed my shit back) Few details; the family friend was with me the initial day I brought it in. However it is my name on all the paperwork. I awoke to a text from the friend and then an email receipt from the dealership. Now you’re thinking; shouldn’t I be grateful? No, this family friend wasn’t doing it out of help for me. And I explicitly told them that they are not allowed to have any more dealings with my car. My concern is that the dealership just gave my car to someone. And while I know they saw me with this person, they still did not contact me at all and his name is nowhere near any of my paperwork. Is there any legal recourse or advice I can have? I’m not nearly as mad as I should be but it can build. I’m just more in shock. Location: Pennsylvania
