Teen son in abusive relationship

My 16 year old son is dating an 18f for a year. The relationship is unhealthy, red flags everywhere, she is not nice. Talks about past trauma all the time. Son's sibling, 12 saw the gf choke him for a few seconds in our home. Sibling was terrified. I saw gf hit him in the head months ago. He defended her when I saw it, said she was playing. She says things like im gonna hit you if you're lying. And has threatened my toddler saying, im gonna do that to you, because toddler hit her first. I must protect my kids. I'd like to cut contact fully. He will defend her saying she was joking and that I am over reacting. These are the physical issues, there is a ton of manipulation as well. Police? If so, will it get anywhere? Location: Illinois, not Chicago
