Leftover items after tenants abandoned house (Texas)

Location: Texas My boss was renting a house to a husband and wife without a lease on a month to month basis. These people lived there for at least 10 years. Recently the wife passed away, and their kids sent the husband back to mexico to live with family. The house has been abandoned for about 30 days, but attempts to contact the parents children have been met with no response. The house is still full of all the items/furniture and has two (broken down) vehicles in the driveway. How long until the house can be torn down and all the items/cars disposed of? Are there legal ramifications for doing so?
